Even with all the right mantras, plenty of motivation and a killer playlist, there will inevitably be days when your walk, run or workout feels like it's moving in slow motion. Thanks to technology, your very own on-demand entertainment is just a few clicks away. A motivating podcast can do wonders to speed up an exercise session and keep your mind engaged—maybe even inspired—from the first step to the last.
A podcast is an audio program that's geared toward a specific topic—similar to a radio show, but one in which you have full control over when and where you listen. The iTunes store serves up podcasts on every topic imaginable, from politics and pottery to cooking and cardio. Best of all? The vast majority are free, so you can stay entertained or informed without dropping a dime.

This isn't weight loss related but, being a horror story buff, my two favorite podcasts are "Spirits" and "NoSleep". Sprits is a pair of best friends who get together every week to try and new drink and talk about mythology. They make it very entertaining with their banter. NoSleep is audio horror stories. Report

I love the app Podcast Addict for managing and listening to podcasts. If you like history, check out the British History Podcast. But I have to warn you, it's addicting! Report
Podbean is a good app for Android peeps. I am a podcast fiend. I listen to profession related ones (teaching and science). I also love "This American Life" and "Critical Role" (D&D nerd here). Great stories make time go by. Report

Podcasts have been the single greatest motivator for me as a walker. Sometimes I have to make myself stop walking! Actually, not sometimes, but most of the time! I highly recommend finding a podcast that interests you. Play it as you walk. You will see what I mean. Makes the walk fun and interesting, plus it provides the added benefit of not wanting to stop. I love listening to What You Missed in History Class. They cover hundreds of interesting tidbits of history I never knew about and some that were very briefly covered in my history classes. They take my mind off of my exercising & the time just flies by! Report

Personally I find that i work out better to music. A steady beat keep me going better than listening to people talk, regardless of how interesting. I might listen to some of these when I'm NOT working out. Couch to 5K sounds like the only thing I'd listen to if I was trying to train for a 5K Report
