50 Workout Songs Straight From Our Members' Playlists

By , SparkPeople Blogger
We've all been there: You're only halfway through your workout, and you feel the fatigue setting in. Your lungs are working overtime, your muscles are begging for a break and you're starting to bargain with yourself: "I'll just call it quits now and eat a little less at dinner," you think. And then, just as you're about to stop the treadmill, put the weights back in the rack or cut your run short, it happens.

That song comes on.

You know the one: that song that sends the adrenaline pumping through your veins, making it virtually impossible to NOT move. You might find yourself running or walking a little faster, maybe lifting a little heavier or a little longer, suddenly feeling powerful enough to push through the pain and discover the rewards on the other side.

There's no denying the magic of music as a motivator, which is why so many people sport earbuds at the gym. A carefully curated playlist can mean the difference between cutting a workout short and going that extra mile.

To help get you started, we've compiled a list of some of "those songs" that keep our members going the extra mile. These are just some of the energy-boosting, booty-kicking tunes that keep them moving, grooving and losing.

Being as these songs come from all across the SparkPeople Universe, there's quite a wide variety of genres, some I hadn't heard from. I also created this list on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/user/msdrp
epper/playlist/1jSNrjRhhFt9rZwoL7Nf

I haven't linked my Spotify on Facebook so that may be an issue for some not being able to find me... I recently found out my brother created his Spotify through his Facebook login credentials and that's why we can't "find each other" on Spotify. Not required to be a paying member of Spotify to join and create your own account, but I finally did after 5-10 years, just so that my family and I could share playlists a bit easier. Send me a private message here if you are having problems accessing this list on Spotify (and I have quite a few other SP play lists from other workout music blogs over the years.).
