Get Free Workout Videos on Your Amazon Fire TV!

By , SparkPeople's App Lover Extraordinaire
Hi, SparkPeople!
Get ready to get excited, because we just brought over 500 FREE fitness videos to your Amazon Fire device! We just released an app for Amazon devices that will allow you to stream the best videos SparkPeople.TV has to offer, from the comfort of your own home, on your TV.

If you don’t know what Amazon’s Fire TV or Fire TV Sticks are, allow us to explain: These little devices, made by Amazon.com, plug into your TV and let you stream videos and music from the internet. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you get access to thousands of free movies and TV shows (if you aren’t a member, you should check it out), but even if you aren’t an Amazon Prime member, you get free access to our app!

When we launched SparkPeople.TV earlier this year, we made it so all of our members would have one place where they could easily find all of their favorite workout videos. Since we launched, the response from our members has been wonderful. However, many of you said that while you loved our videos, it was kind of hard to follow along when you were streaming the videos to your phone or a tablet, and you wished there was a way to watch the videos on your TV. Now, you can. :)

All you need to do to get our workout videos on your device is to go to this page on Amazon, select which device you want to send our app to, and click the “deliver” button. Once the button has been pressed, our app will be automagically delivered your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV. Turn on your TV, fire up your device and go to the section called “your apps.” The SparkPeople.TV app should be the first one in line and you’ll be able to get to working out in no time! And if you'd rather, you can easily find our app by searching directly on your device--just search "sparkpeople.tv" and it should come right up!

Give it a try and tell us what you think. And for those of you that don’t have a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV, worry not! You can already stream our workout videos to your TV if you have Google Chromecast, and we’re looking into building apps for Apple TV and Roku devices as well.

If you don’t have a Fire TV Stick or a Fire TV, but are on the fence about whether or not to get one, remember that Amazon cuts the price of these devices drastically for Black Friday and the weekend after. So keep an eye on this page and snap one up right after Thanksgiving. (I bought my Fire TV Stick last year for $19.)

In order to watch Spark People videos, on Amazon fire TV, you have to subscribe to Acacia TV and that's $6.99 a month. No way am I going to subscribe to anything. Report
I had this on my Fire TV, and I LOVED it. Then it disappeared. What happened? Is a replacement or update coming? I miss your videos! Report
I tried to download the app from Amazon but it doesn't exist anymore. This is kind of disappointing. Report
the link on this story is no good, and there is no SparkPeople TV app on amazon in their app store; they were, however, willing to sell me on Acacia TV for $6.99 a month to watch the 8 videos available on my FireStick... Report
How long is it going to take to get this app to work with the Fire Stick with Alexa Remote??? It's been two and a half months and I'm still waiting! Report
Fantastic! Thank you so much! I'm so excited! Report
loving it!!!! Report
I have long wanted Spark videos east to access through Roku, and I have recently updated my old Roku & Pandora to include Amazon as well. Just tweaked the name to Internet Streaming Services team - come and share your tips and experiences accessing exercise videos on streaming platforms, as well as motivational music (like on Spotify or Pandora or other platforms). (Copy and paste, sorry, not allowed to pit the click through HTML code in here!) teams.sparkpeople.com/StreamingInte
