Juice Recipes for Health

Are you caught up on the latest juicing craze? Regardless making homemade juices are a great choice for those wanting to take control of their health. Homemade juices are healthier than store bought as you can control what ingredients are being used and nothing unnecessary is added. It’s a great way to use those fruits and vegetables are ripe and ready to use. I’ve come up with some of the best combinations by throwing in everything on the container that needs to be eaten today into the juicer. It also a great way to eat fruits and vegetables you may not enjoy on their own. All of these recipes require a blender or juicer. Stay hydrated and filled up on nutrition with these delicious juice recipes. 

Cucumber Mint Cooler

Cool off with cucumbers, lime, celery and mint.

Drinking the juice of fruits and vegetables means consuming their water and much of their vitamin and mineral content; however, the pulp, or fiber, which also has many health benefits, is removed. Got my hubs a juicer but I like the pulp so I'll purchase one for me with this feature. Report
I use to juice, but found I was drinking too many calories. In other words, drinking too much juice. These are all good recipes, just have to watch portions. Report
My favorite is beet (including the leaves) Apple, cucumber, celery, lemon (or lime). I use my juicer and mix about 1/4 of the pulp back into the juice. I tried the nutribullet but having all of the pulp was to much for me so I compromised with how much pulp I add back into the juice. I was having significant GI problems after being diagnosed with RA and starting treatment. One serving of juice (mostly veggies no matter the mix) has really helped to smooth out my system. It's not right for everyone, but I drink the juice plus eat healthy protein for breakfast and it helps me to feel "healthy" instead of chronically ill. Report

I love juicing! I own a juicer and a nutribullet. Sometimes I would prefer to have the fiber so I use my nutribullet. The nutribullet is a great option for those that don't like the waste from the juicer. My favorite juice is Pineapple, Orange, Mango. Report
I recently bought aHuron juicer.It's great, especially when I'm not hungry I can drink my lunch salad or dinner & with the fibre I make into small quiches for later & the kids snacks. Report
For those talking about the pulp, there are several good recipes for using the pulp. The key is to keep the fruit pulp separate from the veggie pulp and then its easier to use them. Veggies in soups or stews are wonderful! Fruit pulp in muffins is delicious! So you don't lose all the fiber this way and get in foods that you might not otherwise eat - like Kale for me is yuck but in juice its yum! Report
I'm not a juicing fan, namely because you lose the fiber when you juice things and I don't feel as full drinking juice as I would actually eating the fruit or vegetable. But I realize it's a personal thing and I'm sure juices are better for you than many other drinks!! Report
When I juice (usually my go-to is a combination of carrots, celery, and apple with a bit of yogurt/kefir added) my skin just glows. This helped me immensely when I was having gastro-intestinal problems years ago after I was newly diagosed as having celiac's disease. My intestinal track was having problems absorbing nutrients due to the damage to the disease, and juicing allowed the immediate absorption of the nutrients as my intestines couldn't deal with all the fiber at that point (it would have immediately "spit out" the fiber along with the nutrients). Just a thought in case you are having similar problems. Report

fiber is SO IMPORTANT to good health and digestion, that I'd much rather eat the food than drink the juice. Just as with sodas having empty calories, juices can be high in calories and low in satiety Report
I've tried juicing but there seems to be so much waste with the pulp that is left over. Someone suggested making soup with the pulp but that was a disaster. Maybe using the bullet-type blender will be a better option for me. I'll try it. Report

I recently purchased a nutri-bullett and have been enjoying their recipe called Immune Booster: 2 cups of spring leaf greens, 1/2 banana, 1 slice of fresh pineapple, 1 peeled orange and 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries. It has a really nice taste! Report
