My weight is down but I think that it is due to the stomach flu. I will wait a few days to post because I am sure that the loss is illness related.
Hope that everyone is having a good week!

Today marks a big milestone for me. I lost ~10 pounds before joing SparkPeople so today puts me at just over a 20 lb weight loss since I started ~mid-August. Best of luck to everyone in the second half of December.

Last Saturday I completed a relatively long, strenuous hike (8 miles RT, 3150 elevation gain), and not surprisingly (to me) experienced the "joy" of DOMS for several days. MUCH better today! And Yes, the hike was worth it all!! (Mt Si, Washington...just east of Seattle) But seems my muscles were holding some extra water weight whilst they recovered... Back down to 143.0 today, and looking forward to a great week! See you all again soon....

Scale moved up slightly, but since TOM came 4 days early, I am not surprised by a slight gain. Still down for the month and that is what counts.

Christmas will just be a few of us hanging out at our house all day. Then Saturday and Sunday after is when we are getting together with family. Worst part of all, is all the junk my HUBBY makes for Christmas. I think I am going to at least make the cinnamon roasted almonds, and the "healthier" buckeye (peanut butter) balls, so that I TRY and stay away from the other stuff. Or at least not eat so much of it.

Today I did Jillian's Kickbox fastfix workouts 1 and 3.

Congrats Beckie! Yesterday's run went very well ^_^. I want to keep improving and hopefully I'll be completely running the next one unless the next one comes before I'm at that stage yet.

Mostly all of the holiday lunches and dinners are out of the way. I had 3 last week in 2 days followed by a lunch with old school friends o.o. This upcoming Friday is another meet up with school friends but I'll definitely try to watch what I eat at dinner.

Next week Christmas will be my biggest issue ahhhh.

Gained another pound since my last post -- but I think some of that is just water and will come right off. (salty food at party and strength training in the last 48 hours)

Have done well today -- eating light, doing a lot of walking while shopping, and doing an exercise DVD when I got home. Hoping to do equally well tomorrow.

Great job. Good luck on the race tomorrow.

Today I pulled out Lauren brooks' Kettlebell DVD workout (vol 2) and I did "the grind" and 'the finisher" OMG!!! I forgot how she can just whip that bell so fast for snatches. I know I can go at my own pace, but WOW.

Happy dance this morning.,......149.6!!!! Hard part is going to be KEEPING it there!! BUT I am going to do my best.

Went running yesterday and reached the end of the course before the last running round ended on my app ^_^. The weather is nice and cool right now and it looks like that will continue onto the day of my race so I'm not worried. I was hoping to be able to run this one (entirely) but I'm behind on my training. I'll run the next one ^_^.

Up .8 from yesterday, but still at a loss for the month.

Today I did Iron Core Kettlebells warrior 1. I ended up doing a full min of snatches with the 12kg bell and switched arms for second set. By the third and forth sets I needed a break during the high pulls and then did the min snatch and my hands were super sweaty. I was able to get in 17 the first 2 sets, then dropped to 15 the last 2. Not too bad. Thinking I could never do more than 30 sec per side before Monday.
plus I will be getting in about a 45 min walk with Turbo during her lunch hour.

Thanks!!! Yes, still waiting...Today 150.0!!!! all those little fractions of pounds will add up.

I can't wait to try a new roasted dip I am going to make at Christmas. It has red peppers, onions and zucchini roasted in oven first then put in food processor and add cream cheese. probably NOT the healthiest, but it has veggies in it! I may try the pumpkin hummus too, but I usually don't care for hummus.

Lou I was exactly with you last year. I had just gotten down to my low 149 around Nov (and only kept it there for a week), and after that I just kept gaining till May about 10-12 pounds!!!no matter all the workouts, and I thought I was eating right, I just kept gaining. I was able to maintain there for the summer and fall, and JUST the last 2 months started to lose again. I will be happy if I can maintain right where I am at.
For Me right now, I KNOW I should be eating more veggies, but what is currently working is protein.

Last night was another great workout with Turbo. I NEVER thought I could do 1 min of snatches on one side with the 12kg bell ESPECIALLY after doing the 6 min set before it with the 10kg. Now I need to push myself more at home.

Today I decided to pull out an cardio workout with NO WEIGHTS! To try stretch out upper back, chest from all the push ups, rows, snatches, jerks, long cycles last night. SO I pulled out Tapout XT cardio!!!! 45 min of sweat.

Scale will NOT show me that 149 yet. SO still at 150.4, but I am still happy!!!

I went running/walking yesterday. 8 intervals of 3 minute run and 1 minute walk. The weather was great so I didn't feel awful at the end, except for my ankles. Yeah I forgot to stretch yesterday and now my ankles are hurting.

Today's goal is drink 8 cups of water.
This week's goal is no alcohol. Last week was my birthday and I had a bit much. Granted too much for me is two glasses.

Thanks, Beckie. This has been a bad year for me as far as weight has been concerned. I started gaining weight (unexplainable reaction to exceptionally cold winter) -- and I wasn't able to lose it and get back on track once warm weather came. Overall, I re-gained about 15 pounds of my 55 pounds weight loss.

Now it is getting cold again and I am frightened. The scale was back down a little today, which helped ease my panic. But I have a long way to go before I get back down to what I weighted this time last year.

I spent all weekend sitting on my backside, grading term papers and trying not to eat. But I take a break each day around dinner time to do an exercise DVD. I am proud of myself for that and hoping that I can do a little better this coming week. I just finished grading papers and will now have a little more time for myself for the next few weeks -- until spring semester starts.

Hang in there Lou, Dec can be the hardest month. sometimes the colder weather can add on a couple pounds to keep us warm for the season.

Today I started week 4 of Fitness is function. Didn't quite make the whole thing, but at least did something.
Ready for Monday night training with Turbo.

Horrible week. I continue to gain significant weight every day even though I am eating within my range (but near the top) or only slightly above. It's just so hard to consisting limit myself to 1300 calories every day.

At this point, I think it will take a miracle to get back to my start weight by the end of the month -- and it is only the 6th!

Good for you Llou! Exercising is always something positive! I think that this group should be commended for keeping exercise and healthy eating in perspective this month. Many people out there are not even concerned about maintaining their weight this month never mind trying to lose a pound.

Good luck with our healthy habits!

I'm in. I got back from a week's Thanksgiving vacation yesterday -- 1 pound heavier than I was when I left. So I am starting this month 1 pound heavier than last month. Ugh!

I have GOT to finish the year back in the 150's. So I am determined. But I've said that before, haven't I? One positive thing I can say is that I came home from work today and did a 45 minute exercise DVD. So at least I am getting back into the exercise routine right away.

LO--Ma, I know exactly what you mean!! (Peppermint Bark & Mexican Wedding Cookies at our home..!) But... I believe there's a plus side to these once-a-year treats: they keep me connected to good memories...and that's a peaceful feeling and a stress reducer. When I have less stress, I make overall better choices. So I enjoy a limited amount of these seasonal treats... think "control", Enough", and I eat really healthy meals so I'm not hungry when I'm around the goodies...

Well Nov was going along great until I decided to do some seasonal baking. I baked my favorite and I think I took about 4 steps backwards. I totally messed up the last 2 weeks.
Here is to getting refocused and back on track in December.

Tomorrow will be rest day partly because I know I will get a great workout tonight, and the kids' school holiday shop is starting and I help wrap the gifts for the kids to bring home.

come join us in staying on track and make small goals each month to keep us going.
Post a start weight on Dec 1, and a GOAL weight to reach by Dec 31. (with all the parties, your goal could be to maintain for the month)
Post as often as you would like. We are here to motivate you and cheer you on to keep going to reach your goal.
It helps me to post my daily workouts.
