    Hi Stephanie,
    It's nice to meet you. I, too, am hoping to reach age 50quite a bit thinner than now. Also, m y youngest daughter left for college in Aug so my husband and I are empty nesters, too. I am so glad I found SP because for the first time in 20 years I have time to focus on getting healthy. I go to Curves after work and then home to trak my excercise and food in SP. There is so much information here, too. I hope to meet you again on this journey to 50.

    Hi Stephanie! Thank you for your sweet email and welcome to Spark! I've learned so much about myself here and learning more everyday. I like to browse the site too and I know what you mean about how much time it can take up. Spark should think of a way to get the cardio in while surfing online! They'd have the market cornered! If you are interested I started a challenge on the message boards for 11/1/07 thru 1/1/08. It is very low key and I joined something similar when I first started Spark that really jump started my weight loss. The address is

    You've already made you first step to a healthier 50 year old. I know you can do it with all the support that's given on this site. It's amazing when you actually track what you eat to see what you're putting in your mouth. Keep up the GREAT work!...Sue

    So glad to see you have a SparkPage. Isn't this a great site!! I joined on my 58th birthday, which was 10/12 and made up my mind to get in shape as I'm getting too old to make anymore excuses. I'm 5'3" and started at 214#, so I have 102# to get rid of and then make sure I exercise each day. This is for the rest of my life!! I was always thin as I'd weigh myself each day and never gain over 3# before going on a diet and getting it off. I did this until I was 39 and had my 4th child and when I had my 5th child at 41, I was just too busy to get the weight off. So....here I am and now I have no reason but to think about ME!!! That seems so selfish, but I know thinking about my health is really LOVING MY CHILDREN, who want me to live a long life for them and their children when they arrive.
