“Whatever you are doing, keep it up!” Those were the words of my rheumatologist 20+ years ago after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called ‘ankylosing spondylitis.’ X-rays revealed my spine to be 100% fused, with pain and stiffness.

I defied the doomsday diagnoses given by an orthopedist 35 years ago, “Be prepared to be disabled and in a wheelchair by the time you are in your forties!”

To that I replied, ‘NO I won't! So, in keeping with my rheumatologist’, I did what he recommended. I stayed mobile and kept moving! I am now 74 and worked full time, in very physically demanding job—and retired in my 70th year.

The awful prophecy did not come to pass, as the Dr. Grim said. I never made plans for anything but happiness and a fulfilled life—and that is what has come to pass!

I love retirement, except I found a new career which is writing! I have added Author to my nursing career. More below.

emoticon our friendship means the world to me as well.
Glad you're looking into gluten free more. You'd be surprised at how much better you'd feel, if you were completely gf.

Check this out 5 min. Video out about it:

There's plenty more about how it causes other diseases, like ones from Dr. Joel Wallach, our other fave Dr.
Wheat especially is so bad due to the round up pesticides put on it. The quality is not like it used to be 100 years ago.

OH NO! Sorry about the insomnia and the neck strain. Definitely challenges that are not fun. Glad at least you have sunshine. We had that, too.

Jas has his surgery for the thyroid on 16 April. I will be relieved when that’s over and HOPE that’s IT for the year.

Yes, I think those lil angry cherries are showing what it’s like sometimes! NOT fun.

John is doing pretty well. The medications seem to be helping him feel good. He’s still working daily, so that’s a blessing!

Clara . . . she’s all right but I will definitely be relieved when she’s through her ordeal. But all in all, she’s doing well. Loving her new job, so that’s consuming much of her attention, thankfully.

HUGS and hope you get some sleep and feel better!
