A Health-Gain Program, not a Weight-Loss Program...
Loss is a negative. It implies something missing, something lost. Not this time. This time this is all about GAINING something. Gaining health. Gaining energy. Gaining self-confidence and pride. Gaining experiences that being overweight have made me avoid. Weight-loss? Nope. I'm GAINING HEALTH!
I'm a work-from-home mom with 2 little boys, ages 21 months and 4.5. They're my biggest reason for taking this on. I'm so tired of never having any energy. I want to be out doing stuff ...

I'm a work-from-home mom with 2 little boys, ages 21 months and 4.5. They're my biggest reason for taking this on. I'm so tired of never having any energy. I want to be out doing stuff with them, and too often, I'm not. And I want to set a better example for them. I don't want them to grow up with weight and food issues. I want them to be active, energetic (okay, they've got that one down already!), enthusiasts. They deserve to have great lives - and so do I!

My Goals:
My goals are to get into shape and get more energy. I have two wonderful little boys, and I don't want to be 'that mom' who is always sitting on the sidelines. I'm tired of avoiding doing things because I'll get tired so quickly. My kids deserve better. And so do I.
3/9/10
Shoot-for mini-goals:
75 lb by 4/22/10 (TS Cancun trip)
85 lb by 5/15/10 (step-daughter's wedding)
110 lb by 7/22/10 (TS National Conference)
3/9/10: I've just adjusted my goals, since I've already done better than I could have imagined when I started on 10/14/09. My initial mini-goal was to lose 60 lbs. by my step-daughter's wedding May 15th. I've at 59 lb lost already, so I've reset that goal to 85 lb by her wedding.
My Program:
3/9/10:
Joining a gym has been crucial to me. With 2 small children, the gym gives me some 'me' time - as well as wonderful, uninterrupted showers! We moved at the beginning of January, and I was without a gym for about 6 weeks. I found I really missed it, and was thrilled when I finally found a gym I love! It's not the cheapest one - it feels more like a spa than a gym - but I enjoy going there, and that's huge.
I've pretty much settled into my routine of cardio 5x per week (M-F) at the gym, and strength training M, W, F. Cardio is a minimum of 30 minutes plus cooldown, but I sometimes do more depending on how I'm feeling, or if I take a class.
I've also started doing about an hour a day of Wii Walk It Out. Not really a fabulous workout in terms of getting my heartrate up, but it's fun and very addictive!
As for food.... My goal is to log everything, and always stay within the ranges SP gives me...
Personal Information:
I grew up all over the world (dip-brat), but have spent most of my life in the DC area. We recently moved to northern VA from MD.
I'm a stay-at-home mom of two highly energetic little boys. I also run a very successful Tastefully Simple business from home... I do home taste-testing parties and lead a fabulous nation-wide team, If you're hungry, check out my website at
