All of my life I have tended to be the "FAT" friend, family member, co-worker - but I am ready to stop being that person. I am officially stripping myself of that title.

I have been on and off and on and off and on and off the wagon so many times, I am dizzy and sick with it!!! I am tired of my bones and joints (especially my knees and back) hurting all of the time with the stress of the extra weight I carry. I am sad that my weight has deprived me (and my kids) of having a more healthy and active lifestyle. I am ready to run, jump, skip, hop and do cartwheels again and now is the time for it to happen.

I am still not "dieting", but instead I am focusing on healthy living. I am transitioning slowly but surely to completely clean eating. I am trying to get some type of exercise every day of the week, even if it only consists of walking up and down the stairs once or twice. Most of all I am trying to set a better example for my almost 14 year old son, who also struggles with weight issues and body image. Now is the time for the excuses to stop and for the laziness and lack of motivation to go away. I know that the results will be well worth all of the effort that they take.

My Goals:
I want to work out at least 5 days a week, and get my recommended 8 glasses of water a day. I also want to move away from prepared pre-packaged foods toward fresher alternatives. I am actually phasing myself into totally clean eating. I would like to lose at least 100 pounds by this time next year (04/14) but my ultimate goal is to be able to run at least a half marathon before its all over.

My Program:
I am watching my calories, trying to consume no more than 1600 per day, while making sure that I include plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and low fat dairy. I am also trying to make sure that I get enough vitamins and other nutrients. I have switched from processed and refined flours and sugars to whole grains and brown rice.
I am trying to cut out prepackaged, processed foods completely and replace them with fresher, healthier alternatives.

Personal Information:
I have struggled with food addiction very nearly my whole life. I am an emotional eater and tend to be my own worst enemy. I have been overweight since I was a child and I am truly looking forward to shedding this weight for good.

Other Information:
I live in Southeast Georgia in the BEAUTIFUL Golden Isles and would love to locate people in my area who have similar goals and interests. I am an avid reader, I love to shop and I enjoy cooking.

    Dropping by to say hi and wish you a blessed day and weekend ahead, also want to say emoticon for all the times you have dropped by my blog and left your kind comments, they are always appreciated! emoticon

    With spring just around the corner I thought this was a perfect time to share this Poem about springtime. Hope you enjoy....

    Sweet Spring

    When the gloomy gray sky turns to clear azure blue,
    And the snow disappears from the ground,
    When the birds start to sing, and our moods start to lift,
    Then we know Spring is coming around.
    When the first flower bulbs poke their heads toward the sun,
    Golden daffodils, hyacinths, too;
    When the brown grass turns green, and the wildflowers bloom,
    Then sweet Spring makes its showy debut.
    Once again we awake from cold winter's pale dream,
    As our minds and our bodies revive;
    We rejoice and delight in spring's colorful sight;
    Each new spring makes us glad we're alive!

    Happy Valentine's Day! emoticon

    Valentine Smile

    On Valentine's Day we think of those
    Who make our lives worthwhile,
    Those gracious, friendly people who
    We think of with a smile.

    I am fortunate to know you,
    That's why I want to say,
    To a rare and special person:
    Happy Valentine's Day!
