I am a mother of 4 perfect adult children, in part thanks to my dear ex-husband, and grandma to 12 with one on the way!

Retired from the State of Illinois, I have relocated to Minnesota to be near my daughter and her family.

No longer involved with West Suburban Toastmasters...( in La Grange Park.

I'd love to speak to any size group of people who would be interested in my topics: Toastmasters, customer service, personal and spiritual growth, goal setting and creating your reality and especially... The Law of Attraction.

I was just about to submit my final exams to become a certified Life Coach and Reiki Master when my school closed!

Other interests include reading, writing, country music and crochet.

I have lost weight through Spark People, and a Plant Based Diet.
I have learned that EXERCISE MAKES ME FEEL GOOD and made many friends! I sincerely hope you will have a similar experience here.

Spark On folks! Hugs to all...

My Goals:
Finish my weight loss (60 #) by this time next year....

Attain my Distinguished Toastmaster award and join the National Speakers Association.

Got sent a quote I'm going to try to live by:
"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought."

~Peace Pilgrim

Read her biography. She was amazing!

My Program:
I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing
He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

- A Course in Miracles - Textbook Chapter 2, Part V, verse 18

New fav quote from Mike Dooley: Thoughts become things...choose the good ones.

Personal Information:
I am retired from the State of Illinois. I now reside in Faribault, MN. I have 4 grown kids, 4 kids-in-law and 11 grandchildren!

I am single. I identify my sexual orientation as...flexible. Love knows no bounds.

Other Information:
I used to read constantly on personal/spiritual growth. Now I find A Course in Miracles and its newer version, the Law of Attraction, are all I need.

I have two books published. Here is an original quote:

"The answer to 'Where is God?' lies deep within each of us, Therein lies the irony, for where the answer resides, there its subject dwells."

I do still read the occasional best seller, historical fiction (my daughter got me into Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series...time travel historical romance!) and lez fiction.

With SP, I am making my ILLUSIONARY body better. The reality is my Spirit in Heaven.

One Spirit, One Mind, One Life, One God, One Love - One

For Zumba Gold, have you checked out eBay (I just did, there are several) or good will? Seems you want it on your tube or SP, right? I just hooked up our portable dvd player, we take in car with us. No internet connection. OR do you have an old lap top? Sometimes they have dvd player, too & you can move to where you want it. OR... if you are a member of AARP, they might have videos there! Just trying to help! emoticon

Thank you for sharing that poem with me! Delightful!

I feel like I'm on the verge of a poem. Today, I wrote satire. I've published 129 stories on Medium since the end of last November. It took me a while to find a positive poem - apparently, it's been a while since I felt like writing one. (No, my mood's not been all negative, by any means, but sometimes a negative one prompts poetry, while a positive one demands non-fiction or a short story.)

Here's one I wrote about some little garden friends of mine (which is doubly funny, when you consider I'm arachnophobic).

    There’s a tiny tree crab
    suspended, in the morning sun,
    between my crepe myrtles.
    Like me, she crochets —
    yarn bombing the trees, sometimes.
    Yarn bombing my husband’s face,

    She weaves intricate, lacy doilies
    And lays them out, delicate,
    awaiting breakfast.
She does not like my coffee.
    This is good.

My unlikely little friend has learned —
    or passed down knowledge
to her kin — to weave somewhat
above the level of the human face.

    Where once upon a time,
I would have seen her, crouched
    within concentric circles, overhead,
and yelled, “Kill it, kill it, kill it!!”
I now stand staunch guard, a friend.
My husband, doing yard work, is allowed
to move her, gently, with a stick.
She does not seem to mind rebuilding.

Arachnophobic as I am, I tell myself
    that she
is not one of the spiny orb-weaver,
    Gasteracantha cancriformis, clan.
For I knew others of her kind
    once upon a time,
and not so long ago. Reclusive, hobos —
not so gentle. Not so kind.

    But bit by bit
    and year by year
we’ve built our trust, and do no harm.
We take our breakfast, silent, in the sun.

    I know this, though —
I see her, who and what she is.

    And she sees me.
