Conquering the BEAST!

I have tried a great number of diets over the years, but I've decided it's time to stop dieting and change my lifestyle. I'm so tired of hearing "You have have such a pretty face" or "You'd be such a pretty girl if only...". Sometimes I wonder if they even realize just how insulting that is.
I'm happy with myself but know I need to do this for my health and just to be honest for convenience. This world just isn't built for big girls! ...

Goal 1: To lose 30 lbs

UPDATE January 1, 2012: I have been away from Spark for a while...about 10-11 months actually because I've had a baby! I am now however more committed than ever to finally lose this weight. I was down to my last 50 pounds to lose after losing 118 pounds when I found out I was going to have a baby. My son was born on November 20, 2011. Through the pregnancy I have put back on close to 70 pounds. For him, my new husband, AND myself I will still conquer this beast!

UPDATE January 2016: Well, once again I have been away for a while. I had another baby...a little girl this time and she is now 20 months old. I struggled for the last couple of years dealing with both Graves and Hashimotos thyroid diseases. Between the first pregnancy and my thyroid struggles, my weight had raced back up to 302 poinds-a number I swore I'd never see again. Now, finally I have had treatment to destroy my thyroid and have my medication adjusted to the point I feel somewhat normal again. I feel like I can make progress once more so I am putting my mind and my heart to it and meeting my goals for my family.
Goal 1: Get below 300 lbs again
Reward: New Sports bra

Reward: A movie date with my hubby
Goal: Reach 180 lbs (122 lbs lost)

Reward: A whole new wardrobe and a trip that requires a passport

Standing reward: Every time I lose enough weight to change sizes I will allow myself one new outfit, because I should own at least one thing that fits!

My Program:
Watching fat intake, no dining out, staying off the sweets and giving up Dr. Pepper. I'm cooking most of my own meals so I can control the amount of oil and butter used and watching my portions. I'm also trying to exercise 4-5 times a week.
Personal Information:
I'm from Fayetteville WV and love my job as an Assitant Regional Manager for a non-profit agency. I love to read, play softball, write poetry and short stories and play, sing and listen to music.
