My first complete swimmer's mile!!! It took an hour, but it was an hour well-spent.

I've been wanting to get under 200 lbs. After Christmas 2009, I weighed more than I've weighed in a LONG time. I am 6 feet tall, so my extra pounds have plenty of places to hide, but it's time for them to GO. I fell off the wagon, so to speak, in 2011 & 2012, and I also struggled with foot pain. In 2013 I had a renewed desire to bring my weight down and live healthier; I took a swim class and increased my physical activity. Also in 2013, my husband and I adopted our infant son, and life got busy as we adjusted to life as parents and also took care of my husband's elderly parents. 2014-17 brought joy and sadness as we watched our son grow and watched hubby's parents' physical and mental health decline; Dad passed away in October 2014 at age 94, then Mom passed in March 2017 at age 84. Now, it’s 2019. I am 42 years old, striving anew to improve my health so I can be active with my busy 5-year-old. In addition to parenting, I also teach piano lessons and play the piano for church, school, and community events. I have helped coach my son’s soccer team, and my preferred exercises are water aerobics, lap swimming, and chair yoga class at the YMCA. I'm still looking to reach the goal of under-200-ness.

My Goals:
Weigh less than 200 lbs.

Exercise a little every day.

Drink an appropriate amount of water.

My Program:
Track nutrition/eating, at least some of the time. Be aware of my fat & protein intake by reading food labels.

Drink WATER and cut back on sweet tea and coca cola.

Be sure to exercise somehow EVERY day by walking, going to pilates class, or using my Wii.

Personal Information:
I am 6 feet tall, not petite AT ALL, so getting under 200 will be difficult for me, but it should be a healthy weight once I get there.

I am originally from Gainesville, FL and graduated from Univ of Florida. GO GATORS!!

I am an independent piano teacher and a musician, so I do a lot of sitting when I work. I must be purposeful in my exercise.

Are you interested in a Challenge?

The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Spring challenge. To get to the Challenge go to my page and click on the Blue Biggest Loser Icon, copy and paste the link below, or let me know and I can send you an invite. Join the Team then sign up on the waitlist. It’s the thread right below the Frosted Fitness Fun Chit Thread.

Thanks for the friend add; I've added you as well! Sounds like you have a busy life! I was reading about your adopted son; our son is adopted too, although many years ago. He's 30. You'll get under 200, I have no doubt; I finally did & it had been 20 yrs since I was! Have a great weekend! emoticon Kay

Happy Friday ALATONA! Thank you for the liking my activity of losing the weight!!!

Thank you for stepping up to lead the Piano Spark Team!!!! I'm not very good, but I LOVE the Piano... I grew up with two sisters that used to play almost daily - I have a piano, but probably should have had a player piano!!! My hope being in this spark team was to help me to play more often!

Looks like you have come a long way yourself! I am restarting this journey - hopefully for the LAST time to lose the weight and get fit! Thank you for being a double inspiration for me!!

    Happy Trails!!! emoticon

Thanks for stopping my by Page! I too have been on and off the Spark train too many times to count! :( I will say this, God has convicted me and I know that tracking and logging is how I am to stay healthy, if not for me, for Him and my family!

Glad you are still here! Let's stay healthy together! :) God bless!
