Hello, all!
I am Kat, 49 years old and living and working in Cyprus. married to Gerry, and with two wonderful kids, Jack and Marininio.
Gods! I wish losing weight was simple! I hate diets, but must get going and lose those wretched excess kilos!

I work as Deputy Superintendent of our Radiology unit at the New Ammochostos General Hospital here in Deryneia, Cyprus, and this takes up most of my time, as I work very odd shifts...Despite this, Gerry and I have embarked on a calorie shift diet which helps, and , even if hours and things don't give me much leeway, I am determined to lose that weight by Christmas!

My goal in life is to be happy and to make others happy too!

Update-I have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and am now post-op and awaiting chemo. It is not as bad as it sounds, the CT was clear, so no known metstases...let's hope all will go well!!!

Further Update- I am now doing chemo and things appear to be going well...of course I will know more when my next set of blood tests come through with the cancer markers, but I am hoping it is good news as the bone scan was clear too!!!

Update- I look like I saw a ghost and lost all my hair!!!! I changed my profile picture to a more recent one- and I have even less hair now than I did in that photo! I am sue it will all grow back tho- just a shock every time I look in the mirror!!! Next cycle of chemo-Wednesday 18th!

Update-I have now started my second round of chemo-taxol and herceptin-not as many side effects, thank God- things going well by all accounts!

Update- now on six-monthly appointments at the Oncologist...Good sign! Work is taking its toll, I wish I could gracefully retire and just do what i need to do at home...fat chance tho...

Update: Been away since I fell and broke my arm and dislocated my knee in December...Not much fun, I grant you...I am getting there though...hopefully back on my full feet soon :-)

Update, 12/03/2017 :- Back on butt again with dislocated knee...three years on from the last episode...

GREAT RECIPE FOR 2017!

* Take a 10 - 30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

My Goals:
1)To lose those pesky Kilos!
2)To get a healthier lifestyle for me and the family.
3)Just to be happy!
4)To beat breast cancer and live again!


My Program:
1)To get from 90 kilos to 60 kilos by the new year.

2)To commit to at least 15 mins of exercise a day!

3) To keep to the program no matter what.



Personal Information:
I am Kat, and I live and work in Cyprus. I am married to Gerry and have two wonderful kids, Jack and Marininio. I am deputy superintendent of the xray dept of our local hospital, I work incredibly stupid hours, and this makes keeping to a diet very difficult at times!

I need motivation frequently and I find that I get a lot here. Work keeps me from being able to do my diet properly and I find that I stray more than I should. I hope to be able to improve on this very soon.


Other Information:
I love reading, cooking, making friends, Horse riding, swimming, and many other things too numerous to mention!!
