The title of my sparkpage, a quote from the crazy genius that is Albert Einstein, pretty much sums up why I am here. About 7 years ago in my early teens I firstly started to have negative thoughts about my body. This developed into an unhealthy obsession with losing weight, restrictive eating and obsessive exercise followed by binge eating and eventually bulimia.

Over the last year I have gained a great deal of understanding about the way my mind and body work which has helped me to get back to an almost normal way of eating. I'm now working on overcoming the unhelpful thoughts that I have to battle against each day so that I can fully let go of my unrealistic ideal body image and the need to constantly chase it. I am learning to be aware and mindful through yoga and meditation and to expand my interests and experiences outside of the tunnel vision which is disordered eating.

My Program:
- Eat well and enough for my body
- Daily yoga and meditation
- Seek knowledge and understanding of disordered eating and arm myself against it

Personal Information:
I am a 22 year old female, currently living and at university in the UK. I am studying chemical engineering but I am interested in arts and social sciences too as well as travel and the outdoors.

    Thank you Amity68 for your encouraging comments on my blog,,,,, it is certainly a journey and I am taking it one step at a time,,, one day at a time.... it is really difficult to change habits.... and that is what it is ... letting go of unhealthy habits and replacing it with healthy habits. Taking the time to make that decision is also part of it. You are right,,,, sometimes it is a vicious cycle..... thanks again for your supportive comments,,,, good to know there are others who face some of the same challenges that I do emoticon
