Updated on 5/7/13: I've joined the spring into summer 5% challenge. It's been a rough few months, i had a persistant back injury and respitory illness, i have lost lots of cardio endurance and have gained about 13 pounds. Not a happy camper! But, I am still here and trying to lose what I have gained plus more. I am eerily similar to the place i was when i started t he fall 5%, in fact, I could probably cut and paste the entire section below to reflect my current weight, my program and my goals, but I won't!

Updated on 1/2/13:
I've joined BLC #21, so excited!

Updated on 8/23/12:
I've joined the Fall 5% challenge!
My exercise for the upcoming 8 weeks:
- at least 150 minutes of cardio per week (T, W, Th& S)
- at least 120 minutes of ST per week (M&F)
- rest day for Sunday

My diet:
- a maximum of 1700 calories per day
- a minimum of 80 gms of protein per day by 5pm

Supporting my team:
- I will faithfully check the team page daily
- I will comment at least 2x per day

Why do I want to lose 5%?? I have a goal of becoming healthier for myself and my children. I want to be less tired during the day. I want to look sexier for my husband. I want to be able to be the "Energizer Bunny" and just keep on going, and going and going. I want to feel light on my feet, instead of feeling like I'm walking with cement blocks on my feet. I want to feel my hipbones, my knees and see slimmer thighs. I want to see a small tummy. I really want all of this to BE ME!

My Numbers:
Current Weight: 188 pounds
Target Weight: 176 pounds

I'm am currently living outside of the US in Europe. Since moving, I've given up all of my volunteer work and decided that I will focus on ME, get my act together and then start doing for others.

Even though I've been a member of SP for 5 years, in that time I had a baby, gained and lost weight. I wanted to renew my commitment to myself so I created a new SP account.

I have several auto immune disorders, but I don't want them to define me, so I won't go into the specifics here. I do have to remember to take it easy on myself because my limitations are very real and sometimes I want to forget that I have any.

What I find inspirational ("stolen" from my fellow SP pages)
I'm going to put myself first, but not at the expense of others... and I'm going to make others a priority, but not at the expense of myself. I'm going to rock what I'm working with right now, because I am whole and complete and I'm not promised tomorrow. I'm going to make every moment count and remember how far I've come when I don't want to continue on.

A workout is 25% Perspiration and 75% Determination. Stated another way, it is one part physical exercise and three parts self-discipline. Doing it is easy once you get started. A workout makes you feel better today than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind, and toughens the spirit. When you work out regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows.

A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It is the badge of a Winner, the mark of an organized, goal-oriented person who has taken charge of his or her destiny. A workout is a wise use of time and an Investment in excellence. It is a way of preparing for life’s challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary.

A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to Opportunity and success. Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it.

A workout is a form of Rebirth. When you finish a good workout, you don’t simply feel better. You feel better about yourself
