I began my weight loss journey January 3rd, 2006 at 301 lbs. I got down to 240 lbs by the beginning of July.

In the month of June, 2006, I got pregnant!!! My beautiful baby boy was born on Feb. 22nd, 2007! He is now three months old and now I'm going to start my weight loss journey up again. I gained about 40 lbs during pregnancy and only lost about 8 lbs in delivery. As of May 25th, I weigh 275.75 lbs. I really want to get back to 240 before getting pregnant with #2. We won't start trying for at least 6 more months, though, so I have some time to drop at least 35 lbs. I would prefer to drop more than that, too.

This is what I wrote before the pregnancy;

My goal is to become more healthy and happy. I want to have a healthy heart and reduce the disease risks from being overweight. I am using SparkPeople as well as attending Weight Watchers and I do daily exercise of at LEAST 30 minutes of low impact aerobics a day plus 15-30 minutes of yoga, stretching, and toning a day.

I am also following the guidelines given in the book "Make the Connection" by Oprah Winfrey and her personal trainer, Bob Greene. When I had a weight gain in the beginning after about 11 lbs gone, and didn't understand it, my Weight Watchers leader recommended this book to me. I read it cover to cover - It was terrific! It helped me so much to see what I needed to do and encouraged me not to quit! Thank you Oprah and Bob!

Highest Weight - 301
Lowest Weight - 240 (6/6)
Current Weight - 276

Short Term Goal - lose 7.5 (268.5), then keep up weight loss AT LEAST equal to baby's weight gain.

Long Term Goal - 240 again by Nov. 25th

Long Long Term Goal - break 200.

My Program:
WW Flex Plan - Keeping track of food intake and calories and WW points. Keeping to caloric range. Exercise - walking the dog 20 mins a day plus 30 min. minimum of aerobics following fitness shows on TV (Gilad) or Water Aerobics at the pool. 20+ mins of Zone 7 (target heart rate) aerobics and another 10-30 mins. yoga/stretching with occasional strength training exercises.

My reasons to lose weight -

To get my heart more healthy. To improve overall health and minimize risk factors for heart disease and diabetes. To eventually become pregnant and have lower risk during a pregnancy. To reduce my physical pain caused by being overweight. To have more energy and stamina. To reduce my depression. Overall to become happier and healthier. One of my goals is to be able to ride a horse.
