After my husbands death in 2014 I stopped all efforts of losing weight and dived into severe depression. I felt life wasn't worth living even my kids were that way. After 10 months of grieving me and the kids went on vacation and talked about our situation. We agreed it needed to change and that we needed to be like my husband and enjoy life again. So we created a Living List. A list of things and places we would like to experience and go to in the future. We are now working on fulfilling that list together it has restored some purpose to our lives. But one thing I didn't write on the list but thought in my mind was losing weight.

Before my husband died he and I were working out together in a gym and working to loss weight. I had lost 14 lbs. He was so proud of me and started a game with me that if I lost another 10lbs he was going to buy me a new watch. It wasn't long after he died in a car wreck. Since then I've put the weight back on from eating to comfort myself. And I put on even more weight on top of that so I have even more to lose now. But I can do it I was doing it before!

So we are still getting our life together and it hurts that my husband is gone. But I will start the new year trying to accept the changes in my life and make a difference in myself. I don't want to become the new diabetic in my family and I don't want my children to become diabetics either. So my and their lifestyle has got to change.

So here's to changing in the new year. Hoping for success to everyone and looking to achieve my goals.
