Persistence is Key!
Hi, I'm Annecek and I have been up and down the weight loss road most of my life. My body is telling me it is getting too late if I don't do something NOW! I am thrilled to find SparkPeople and I want to use all the tools to stay motivated.
That was my thoughts in Jan 2011. At the time, I was walking through life asleep. I felt I was in a haze, just surviving day to day. I had a wake up call when I was going to sign up for my employee wellness program. I almost fell backward off ...
Hi, I'm Annecek and I have been up and down the weight loss road most of my life. My body is telling me it is getting too late if I don't do something NOW! I am thrilled to find SparkPeople and I want to use all the tools to stay motivated.
That was my thoughts in Jan 2011. At the time, I was walking through life asleep. I felt I was in a haze, just surviving day to day. I had a wake up call when I was going to sign up for my employee wellness program. I almost fell backward off a 4 ft wall. Luckily, a coworker pushed me forward. I started to think, what if I would of had a severe head injury or worse died? Lightbulb moment! I weighed in and was disgusted with myself but determined. Looking through the packet, I found the link to SparkPeople and my guide to a healthy lifestyle.
As of today, I am 110 lbs lighter and on my way to my goal weight of 145 lbs. The SparkPeople community and my friends help everyday with motivtion and support. I know this time is different because anytime I want or need support it's there 24/7. Persistence and forgiveness are my two words to live by. Never give up!
It's now 2013 and I have been with SP for 2 years. I maintained the later half of 2012 but then the holidays became a challenge for me and I gained 11 pounds. I had lost my SP mojo.
Well that lost mojo is a thing of the past. Started a program at work designed to lose "just 10." It's a 10 week program to lose 10% of your weight. Well I couldn't do it too soon. My daughter's wedding is in June and I have goals to meet! I have a trainer that I meet with once a week and do boot camp type exercises after an hour of the program. I also have communication access through the week with any questions etc. I plan on making this work right along side the SP program. To me it look's like a WIN, WIN! It's great to be back on track!

My Goals:
My long term goal is to be at my goal weight and be Fit and 50.
Short term goal- I would like to loose 50 lbs by my Daughters graduation in May. - Goal met in April down 62.5.
Next goal event-down 75 lbs by july 30th, high school reunion. Met , down 77 lbs as of 7/23/11.
Next to weigh less than my husband, which is 100 lbs less by 10/1/11. Didn't acheive , Thanksgiving new goal. Goal met 12/3/11
Onederland by 2/1/12.
My Program:
I am tracking daily with special attention to portions by weighing and measuring. In addition, I am tracking my calcium and fiber totals. If I get in range with all my tracking I don't experience hunger.
2013 note: getting real with how many calories I eat and stepping up exercise to meet my goals.
My activity consists of walking my dog and using the Kinnect 360 dance and sport videos.
I also have a health incentive program thru work. Including a weight loss challenge program.
Personal Information:
I am from Iowa and am a RN. I work in pediatrics after working many years in ICU.
As of May 2012,working in a Home Health Care Company as a clinical coordinator of extended hours nurses.
Other Information:
My hobbies are reading and painting.
I have a black lab mix and 2 cats.
