Hi Anne! Thanks for thinking of me! I was in Maine till the middle of October with little access to the internet and I've gotten out of my habit to be here on Sparks. I hope this motivates me to step back in! So glad you're adjusting to your husband's retirement! It's a big life change, for sure. It's good that you're aware of how those changes affect your health and that you make the adjustments that will give you the health and vitality to enjoy him and those lovely grandchildren you have! I hope everyone is doing great (kitties included) and that you're planning some fun for the holidays. All my vey best to you! Renee

    Hi Anne
no they've still not arrived, Pete's going to call them on Monday as we're out this afternoon and down to London tomorrow for my annual gadget check-up, so no point asking for a delivery this side of the weekend.

Have fun re the flu jab- it really affected us both this year.

Those transitional times do change things up, but it must be great to see your husbands stress level drop! Bill and I are in Maine for the summer. We have been working steadily on projects here and we have people coming for a landscape painting workshop in September. But I've been going to my WW meetings, walking daily and I'm down 22 and a half pounds. It's gotten to the difficult stage where I have at least another 20 to lose and I've been up and down @ a pound for the last month. I want to add strength training again and move some more, because I hope that will get the scale moving downwards again! Do the best you can to take care of yourself at those lunches. Maybe with extra time on his hands, your husband can make something healthy & yummy for you both! Since it's hot here, we've been eating a lot of salads, Nicoise, & Mexican bean are 2 favorites. As long as I have a plan, I do pretty well, but when I don't, lookout:)! Hang in there dear friend. You're always an inspiration!

Thanks for your comment on my sleeplessness blog. Yes, it's exhausting. I am managing well with early nights, yoga, deep sleep music on YouTube. The situation is being addressed by multi-agency input and it will resolve, but it probably has to go through court - and will take time.

I deleted the blog because some folk got the wrong end of the stick and were offering unsolicited advice which I couldn't cope with this morning!

I had a quiet night last night. Phew!
