Hi! I'm Cassie and I've been trying to lose weight my whole life. I decided to try Spark People to help me keep my portions in control and keep me motivated to do this!

My Goals:
In general, I want to be healthier, including getting off the blood pressure medicine!

I would like to better control my portions and still feel full.

I would like to have more energy.

I would really like to have a pair of jeans that fit me comfortably.

My Program:
Since it's finally summer, I've got a whole new plan!!

1. Plan my meals/snacks for the day
2. Portion out each meal/snack in the morning when I'm not tempted to over eat
3. Stick to an eating schedule 5 days a week
4. Reach my cardio goals daily
5. Fit strength training into everyday things so I'm prepared to keep doing that, even when school is back in session
6. Remember this is a change of life style
7. Make sure I don't deprive myself of the foods I love, just eat them in a more sensible way

Personal Information:
My name is Cassie and I'm a 29 year old reading teacher in NY. I've always had trouble with my weight. In high school, I thought I got it under control. Even in college I didn't do too badly. When I got to grad school, though, things got tough. I haven't been able to break the bad habits I got into then and have continued to gain weight. I lost a bit last summer, but I've gained it all back since I moved in with my fiance.

Other Information:
I love The Beatles, reading, writing, and teaching.
