Old Spark Plug back at it.

I was on SparkPeople 14 years ago or so and loved the community and support, as well the innumerous resources. I wasn't very successful then, nor was I very committed. My mindset is different this time.

I never lost baby weight and now the babies are grown and gone and the weight has to go too.

My Goals:
There was a time when I walked 4 miles every morning before work. I would like to get back to a walking regimen. I enjoyed it so much and I know what benefits await.


My Program:
RULES FOR A "SPARK"LING LIFE! (adapted from RULES FOR A "SPARK"LING WEEK!!!)

1. Wake Up !! Make the choice to have a good day and live a healthier lifestyle!

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

3 . Learn!! Read as much as you can and gain knowledge about living a healthier lifestyle!

4. Stand Up!!..... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.

5. Look Up !!.. to your next goal and reward. What do you need to do in order to meet or exceed that goal?

6. Reach Out !!... by encouraging others and being supportive in their times of need.

7. Lift Up !!.. Your spirit....as this journey is not only about your body and weight loss but the changes with your mind and soul too!

8, Get moving !! ... Find ways to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Sneak in as much exercise as possible!



Personal Information:
I am a 58 yo, single, female professional. I have 2 grown young men that call me mom. And 3 little dogs that bark me master. I bought a new home and started a new career 2 and 3 years ago respectively.


Other Information:
I enjoy gardening, photography, writing and just being in the moment.

    Hey Lovely!
    I wouldn't say my eating is completely off course. I'm not lost... just keep finding myself taking little detours off the path. Maybe explore this banana bread over here at the church potluck then take a little tour by the bowl at the office with all the Christmas chocolate. LOL

    I've let myself have a few things lately that would normally be off limits. I justify it's okay because it's CHRISTMAS TIME right?! I think it's fine for now...somewhere between healthy eating and binging Nutella...so I'm keeping myself close to the trail.

    I've been doing keto for so long and I'm taking a break from it and just focusing on calories now. So for now that's my biggest thing to adjust to. If I'm not happy with progress then after the holidays I'll kickstart and go strict keto again for a while. I need to push myself a little harder at the gym too. I've been going but I've been comfortably exercising and not getting that full on can't breathe ugly sweat stuff going.

    You have the right idea about all that water. I need to take your attitude about that and incorporate it into my philosophy. I know I'd do better if I get more H2O in. Thanks for the email. I already knew I needed to adjust and buckle down a little more to get through the holidays without backsliding but it's just what I needed to help me fix my attitude.
