I need to lose weight for a variety of medical reasons, number one I guess would be staying alive!

I joined SparkPeople to get some extra help, advice, motivation etc... I have been a member of the BLC for about 8 months and I lost 93 lbs before someone there told me about Sparks.

So far so good, lots to read and good exercise info. Seems like a great group of people!

Well it has been almost two months since I joined Sparkpeople and I have lost another 15 pounds! I finally broke through a barrier I was stuck at for a few weeks by increasing my cardio and strength exercises. The calorie tracking has been great! I can sit down the night before and figure out what to have the next day to stay on track. I think I will redo my goals and break them into smaller segments. Might not be able to get where I had originally thought by my birthday next year but will be very pleased to meet new goals.

Well I finally cracked the 300lb mark!!! It was only about the 3rd or 4th time I seem to get stuck close to a certain weight and not be able to move past it for a few weeks. Hopefully this one will be like the others and once reached weight loss speeds up for a bit.
When I originally started losing weight(18 months ago) I had hoped to get to my final weight by this years birthday in October this year. Now I hope to be there by next October.
The difference of a entire year doesn't even bother me. Last year I would feel frustrated if I wasn't losing as fast as I thought I should be or if I was "stuck" and not making progress. Maybe watched to much BLC and figured why not me!
Now I look back on how much I have lost and smile to myself knowing how foolish I have been in the past getting upset over something I was being unrealistic about in the first place.
I have set my mini goals at the side of the page and when I want to reach my final weight. If I make it on time I will be very, very pleased but if not, no biggie.

I have changed my eating and drinking habits drastically. Walking is now a way of life with me. 18 months ago I could barely haul my large body to the parking lot to drive the mile and a bit to the store. Now I walk past the car on the way to the store!
