That's how I used to feel. I had always been told that even though I was a large woman, I "carried it well". Two kids and more pounds later, I no longer carry it well. It's affecting my physical activity - I want to do more with my young children and teach them all the things about food and the body that I didn't know. My energy level is much too low and I've become too sedentary. My lack of understanding and self-control got me where I am today.

Fad diets? Bah! I've been through more than I can count and the yo-yo syndrome is nearly as bad for me as the way I normally eat. So, I've decided to change my "normal". This time, instead of the "diet plan" telling me what I'm going to eat, I'm striking out on my own so that it fits my lifestyle, cravings & needs. That way, I can really *live* with a lifestyle plan and not yearn for the day when the "diet" is over. ;) It's taken me a very long time to get to this point! I hope to update my blog often on my journey to finding a new, much healthier me.

Fitness Minutes: 631

My Goals:
1st goal: 299
2nd goal: 250
3rd goal: 199
4th goal: 160

5th goal: To gaze at myself in the mirror, but feel the need to shield my eyes from the awesome power that is me. ;)


My Program:
I'm going for smaller portions, only eating "good" carbs & minimizing / eliminating trans fats. No food will be *completely* off limits, but I'll need to work hard at portion control and moderation with certain foods. I've never really had a sweet tooth, but I'm a carbohydrate junkie!

I'm also incorporating some strength training with a few workout videos and hope to purchase an elliptical machine soon for cardio. These pounds won't fall off by themselves!



Personal Information:
I'm a member of the human race. Does anyone know where we're racing to?


Other Information:
I'm the mother of 2 young children - 5 & 7. I adopted one before having them - he's now 44. ;)
