My name is Bethann,
My goal is to lose 25 lb. by December. Then go from there. I will need to lose 70 lb. total to be at what I think is a good weight for me.

I have thyroid cancer and gained some weight post surgery. Make that a lot of weight!

I originally joined SP back in Sept. 2008 and lost 9 lb. before finding out I was pregnant. Now I am back to begin the weight loss journey again.

I have a 3 year daughter, Emma, and a baby boy, Caleb! They are the loves of my life. My husband and I have been married over 12 years and have been through many challenging ones. I have lots of excuses for my weight but the reality is that I haven't made the time to make a difference. (At least not enough committment to it)

My goals for 2010 are to make small changes consistently that when added up make a huge impact on my life for the positive. Maybe weight isn't the ultimate goal but a healthy mind, body and soul is and hopefully the weight loss will come with it.

My Goals:
1. Not beat myself up for every little mistake.

2. Adopt small changes that will have a lasting impact.

3. Better food choices

4. Exercise regularly


Challenge goals:

a) no eating after 8 pm
b) read book on motivation
c) read book on food planning
d) substitute high cal/fat/sugar foods that I just can't live without


My Program:
I'm going to take things one day at a time.

Right now I am monitoring my intake. I still nurse my son so I don't want to decrease calories too far- goal for 1800-2200/day.

Then I'm going to try to add some basic exercise which will be difficult since I wake up at 4:40 am to go to work and the kids don't go to bed until 8:00 pm so I am pretty beat to exercise then. I'll have to be creative in how I work it in.

Other Information:
I want to serve my God in all I do! Remembering my body is a temple for Christ... I hope I can make it a good one for Him.

    Hi there! Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my photo! I have two kids too, and started with more weight to lose than you have....so if I can do it, you can too!!!!!

    One tip to help your skin stay elastic and toned as you lose (esp. on the tummy): dry-brushing the skin with a natural bristle brush! Brush fast and as hard as you can stand, 8 strokes over each area, starting with arms and legs, always brushing upward. This is great any time, but best after your workout and before your shower.

    I have less loose skin after baby #2 than I had after baby #1, and I really believe I owe it all to good nutrition, lots of water, exercise, losing weight fairly slowly, and dry skin brushing! Best wishes on your journey to health and hotness!!
