I am so often inspired buy other sparkers stories I thought I should put some of my ugly truths out there.

I had a strange childhood raised by a con man, drug dealer construction worker step dad. Mom finally got rid of him when I was about 15.

I was pregnant and married by the time I was 17. Just about the time I realized I was being abused my mother had just married and moved to Alaska. It happened so gradually. We were married a year before we had our first real fight. It got progessively worse until I was liveing a nightmare.

It took me 13 years to free myself. By that time I was about 220 lbs.

Became a man hater for a few years after that but now realize he was the exception not the rule. And that I will never tolerate such behaviour again.

I lost about 40 lbs 4 0r 5 years ago when I lived alone for the first time in my life. I cut out soda and quit bringing any snacks in my house. 40 lbs and then got stuck.

Fast forward to SP and here we are. Not only do I think I can lose the weight once and for all I feel stronger, stand straighter and have more energy than I would have believed.

Those are some but certainly not all of my demons.

Feb 1, 2011 - 160 lbs-new workout cloths DONE



March 1, 2011 155lbs -156.8 so close!


My Program:
Going to Curves 3 times a week and tracking food.

    The great thing about tracking and running the report at the end of the day is that you can see what nutrients you are missing as well as how the calories add up...I discovered that my cravings for salty chips and chocolate usually were at their worst when I was low in protein...like a light bulb moment. The point is, it takes a while to see some of these trends and make adjustments and hey....I still have some days when I go over...life happens, but it's the overall trend that matters. Keep tracking, it'll start to get easier.

    I have noticed the same thing with my calories, going over a it. I keep telling myself that by being aware I am at least taking in less calories than before I paid attention. So what if I go over 20,50,100? I didn't expect to jump in and be on track right away. I know I will get there. Good work and keep it up! emoticon
