I did so well on Spark People for a year and then as I have done in the past I let life get in the way of my health.

I now feel it is critical for me to lose. Suddenly I feel if I don't do something now my heath is in real jeopardy. When we are feeling fairly healthy and have gotten away with bad eating habits we let all those excuses get in the way of dealing with our weight.

All in all I know that I can do this if I choose to. I remember once hearing Dr Phil say you continue to do things the same way if you are getting something out of it. Let us all look deeply into whatever it is we are getting from overeating. Whether it be comfort food, control or the pleasure of eating foods we like. We can control this if we set our minds.

I am now facing bad labs. I am very close to Diabetic and my doctor will check again in 4 months. I think she is willing to work with me to get them down but I think she doesn't expect progress next time. But I know I will make great strides. This is serious. I do not want to be Diabetic.

I lost 3 today. That is 6 in the past two weeks. I can do this. It is only food!

I am back to tracking my food and taking care of me. Please join me!

The only TV I seem to watch these days are the educational shows for kids. Once my grandson went home, I was trying to catch up on emails and doing dishes - still have lots of emails, things I can wait until the weekend to deal with, but at least I'm all caught up with dishes.
Need to get to work on ironing. It was piling up because the cord to my iron started getting hot and I wasn't sure if it was going bad or if I had just accidentally had the cord next to the plate of the iron (ends up it WAS the iron, now have a new iron so can't use that as an excuse anymore).

My daughter got so many boxes of chocolates, and she's trying to lose weight (aren't we all?!). So she's trying to figure out what to do with them all. She's giving one box of dark chocolates to my Dad in the nursing home, as he loves dark chocolates. Her friend is a teacher too, and when her friend's dad mentioned having to go to the store to get gifts for his office, she said "Don't you DARE!! You come over here and get some of these candies to take to the office!" And my daughter said if he needed more, he was to drive right down the street to her house and pick up some from her! My grandson already managed to open a box of them, so she's taking that one to my sister's house for Christmas Eve.
She also got lots of Starbucks gift cards, most were $10 but one was $25. She doesn't even drink coffee, but my grandson loves the cake pops there (there's a Starbucks in Target, so they stop and get one when she's there). Since my daughter teaches music instead of general education, she may have lots more students than the regular teachers, so gets more gifts. Plus she does chorus after school and those students also bring her stuff!

Sounds like fun! School is out so I now have 2 weeks off before I start watching my grandson again. Maybe I can make some progress on sorting through my stuff and getting rid of a bunch of clutter! My family gets together for Christmas Eve, so in addition to the food I'm bringing, I'm making a Saran Wrap Ball game for us to do. Have been collecting little things to wrap in the ball, mostly food, but some goofy things too. Daughter is contributing a few items from the gifts she got from her students (She and my grandson are bringing a couple of the 60 piece boxes of Godiva chocolates and some cookies to the Fire department and Police department).
First time we're doing this so I don't know how well it is going to go over, but it does sound like fun.
Then we have a going away potluck for some friends on the 29th, and a New Years Eve party on the 31st to go to. After that, we can just relax, put away the decorations, and maybe get the house back in some sort of order.
