    Healthful snacks:

    Celery sticks with peanut butter and several raisins on top
    Rice cakes with peanut butter (good for getting a protein punch)
    Low-fat cheese cubes
    Hardboiled eggs
    Deviled egg (wrapped in plastic wrap)
    Fruit yogurt cup (add in some fresh fruits or nuts for a boost
    Trail mix
    Nuts or nut mix (stick to just a handful)
    Vegetable sticks with a little packet of dip (lowfat salad dressing packets found in salad bars work as easy-to-pack dip)
    Broccoli or cauliflower bites
    Half of a turkey or tuna sandwich on whole-wheat bread
    Cucumber slices (lightly salted or with nonfat Italian dressing)
    Yogurt and granola
    Leftover chicken or turkey slices (great to eat cold)
    Healthy fiber-rich or grain cereal (great to eat dry from a baggie)
    Pickles (wrapped in foil or plastic wrap)
    Box of raisins or other dried fruit
    Half a large whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese
    Apples, bananas, strawberries (any fruit works, these are naturally portable)
    Mixed berries (these freeze well in plastic bags)
    Whole-wheat crackers and low-fat string cheese
    Grapes in a baggie
    Fruit smoothie in a thermos
    Tuna and cottage cheese in mini-containers

    Just read Small Changes Challenge Day 15 article. This really hits home for me. I gained a lot of my weight when my father was dying of Alzheimers. It was horrendous! I am an emotional eater, and after three years, I still find that memories trigger me to grab comfort food. What was in the article was not new to me, just a really good reminder to move on. My Dad loved me. No doubt there. He was a really kind and caring man. Fun-loving and adventurous. EVERYTHING reminds me of him. I miss him terribly! So... I need to stop thinking of regrets! It's all played out! We did the best we could at the time. My Dad worked hard all his life to help his children. He wanted the best and brightest futures for us all. I have the best and brightest all around me. It is my health that I need to address. It is my eating habits that have to change. I am the only one holding me back from fully enjoying my life. I need to take control! I am taking control! That is why I am here. emoticon Love you Dad!
