Welcome to my page! I've lost 44 lbs with the support of you wonderful people on SP. From size 22 to size 16. I have better quality of life and am much more active. I started with Pilates back in Feb, 2011, and am now a runner. I have learned a lot about what works for me and what doesn't with weight loss. I have fought off my cynical, scared, and discouraged feelings and habits. I am now ready to start strong again and lose some more weight.

My ultimate goal is to get to a healthy BMI of 20-23 by my 10th year wedding anniversary. An even 100# loss total would put me at my ideal weight for my height.

About me:
I am 36 years old and have 7 year old twins, a girl and a boy. I'm a registered dietitian who works full time. I started SP in Feb, 2011 and lost 25 lbs in a few months. From there I had some ups and downs, depending on how hard I worked at my weight loss. I've been maintaining a 44 lb loss for a while now, and am starting strong again.

I have a heart condition (peripardom cardiomyopathy, heart failure due to pregnancy) which means I have to ease into things. This is something I have to deal with and have had to overcome. If you see me writing about my blood lipid values, heart rate, or about overcoming fear you'll understand it's because I've come a long way. I started slowly with walking and pilates and I'm now running.

I started SP on 2-16-2011

Thanks for spotting by and for your support!

Wow.... I just finished reading your profile. I cannot even put in to words the effect your story has had on me.

My 22 year old sister passed away about 8 years ago due to rejection of a heart transplant. She had dilated cardiomyopathy that required the transplant. I can relate to your heart issues and understand how scary and stressful that type of situation is. I am so glad all worked out well.

When I was 10 weeks pregnant with my first child, they learned I had a clotting disorder and I was not able to carry that pregnancy to term. I was devastated, but God blessed with me with 2 little ones (14 months apart!) following that miscarriage.

Your strength and courage are truly an inspiration to all of those who know this story. And... don't ever be ashamed for doing well. When my sister passed, we started a foundation in her memory. We have 2 apartments near the hospital that we use for family members of a transplant. When they hear our story about our Casey, they often apologize to us or feel awkward that it it worked for them but not for her. We would never, ever wish on ANYONE what we went through and are so happy to hear of the successes. Be proud of what you have accomplished and know that you truly inspire others.

Thank you for sharing your story. It has really touched me.
