Hi All
Carl P-S here. Been on Spark People for a long time but haven''t used this part of the program, up until a couple challenges ago!!!! Now I'm addicted!

I''m a 24/7 Caregiver for my spouse & life partner, Mark who is paralyzed on the left side after a stroke.

I'm really stoked! With the help of the 5% Challenges and lots of encouragement, I'm down 205 pounds! I'm getting set for the 2016 5% Summer Challenge. This needs updating: it's 215 pounds down and 26' off the waist!!

My Nutrition Plan is the Diabetes Low Carb, higher Protein meal plan.

I will continue to Exercise as follows:
- Zumba classes twice weekly
- Drum Fit class weekly - On hold - hand (trigger finger) problem
- 120 minutes of mixed exercise daily (minimum)
a. Gardening
b. Strength training

I am also going to take the Zumba Jumpstart Gold Instructor Training during the Summer Challenge (that's a 10 hour training!!!)
PS I took it and am now a licensed Zumba and Zumba Gold Instructor! 7/10/2016

To think that 4 yeas ago I earned my permanent handicapped Motor Vehicle tags - now look at my activity feed!

My Goals:
My goals are simple, I've got to get serious about getting healthy for me! Getting healthy is more than just loosing weight, or getting rid of excess weight (if you loose, you might find!). I've finally started keeping a twice daily walking workout!

I just crossed the 200 pound mark on my journey to the "new" me. The "new" me also goes to two Zumba Gold classes and a Drum Fit Class per week. I walk 8-10,000 steps per day and eat simply - but it gets recorded!


My Program:
1, Tracking what goes into my mouth!
2. Tracking two walking exercises per day - no matter what!

Trying to do each monthly challenge on the Spark People program.



Personal Information:
Born in Sweden a long time ago! Languages are a hobby - I speak eight!


Other Information:
"Nemo dat quid non habeat!" or
Ya can't give what ya ain't got!

Been on a diet all my life or so it seems - now I'm on an eating plan. Tired of the yoyo syndrome!

    btw, thanks for joining my 30 day fitness challenge. I've missed a few days myself ... work is keeping me busy. The person I've been filling in for decided to retire. So I'm still doing two jobs. I did apply for the position, please keep me in prayer that the promotion is mine. emoticon

    Carl, I'm sticking with "Beck"... today's assignment is to eat while seated. Such a simple concept until you think about all the little standing bites that can derail any plan.

    Slow and steady... My #1 diet choice is keeping it under 1600 cals daily. Back up plan is a shake for breakfast and lunch followed by a sensible dinner.
