Aiming for less of me!
Though in the process of shrinking, it is just as important to me to gain strength and stamina. After having total knee replacement surgery a couple years ago, I'm discovering that I can do more than I've been able to do since I was 16 years old. And it doesn't hurt!

In June 2011, our family spent some time in Italy and we walked miles. And miles. And climbed stairs...billions of stairs. And I kept up (mostly). I found when we got back home that I'd lost several pounds in the process. So that was my running start for Sparks.
Twenty-two years ago I lost 80 pounds with Weight Watchers. Little-by-little, I've gained back about 50 of those pounds. I DON'T want to see that last 30 come back--they are NOT invited! And those newbie 50 pounds are on their way to being evicted.
Update, March 2013: It's been long and gradual, but I see my weight goal in sight. I'll soon need to change my goals to maintenance-type goals. This will be the first time since I was a freshman in high school that I've been anywhere near an ideal weight. New territory to explore!

My Goals:
DAILY GOAL
Eat within my limits.
Walk at least 9,000 steps.
Track nutrition and fitness daily.
WEEKLY GOAL
Exercise 30 minutes/day for at least 5 days.
LONGER TERM GOALS
Fit back into those itty-bitty clothes in the back of the closet.
GOALS MET
Consistently get up from sitting in a chair without having to push off. (Update--I've been doing this consistently enough to move this to Goals Met.)
Wear the Hilo Hattie muu-muu that I bought in Hawaii and never could fit into comfortably. (Update--it fits! Now it has to get warm enough to wear it.) (Another update--I fit into Mom's muu-muu!)
Fit into an airplane seat without being cheek-to-cheek with a stranger.
Walked a 5K--Nov. 28, 2013, 57 minutes!
My Program:
Track nutrition and fitness (keeps me honest).
Eat within my limits.
Walk! And if I can't get out to walk, do at least 30 minutes on Wii Walk it Out or Leslie Sansone Walk at Home.
Read team posts and chime in.
