NOSKINNY
I spent a few years on a tiny farm in my teens, and learned a bit about vegetable gardening. Most of all, I learned to enjoy fresh vegetables. My favorite, of course, is tomatoes straight off the vine! Today I'm living close to a big city, but just outside enough to be in the area of the small farms who raise the fresh produce for the city folk. That means I get the pick of the crops!
Our strawberries are ripe now and very sweet but most importantly full of vitamin C and such. I am feeding some of mine to the birds (these city flocks don't have much to eat around here). The goldfinches are eating the seeds off the outside and leaving the rest for the sparrows. If I were working, I would send you some of the best plants. They're called Hood Strawberries and when protected from the freeze they make big, very sweet fruit.
I'll bet you have some of the best peas coming up now. We have had a warm, wet spring so my tiny crop will be ready for picking soon. The tomato plants are ready to go at the local nurseries, so I'll get some today.
I will send up a prayer for your harvest. I'm sure you could use a good season this year after all the rain the last year few years. Happy planting! 3888 days ago
I admire those who work for the kingdom helping to lift others up so they can be embraced by Christ. Having been sick these past couple of years I can only offer others up in prayer. Sometimes just being in a 'nice' mood is a strain but I pray for His grace to pull me through. It is nice to have a friend on the battlefield! 4079 days ago
