I completely forgot about my 3-year anniversary with SparkPeople, which was on March 31. This third year of my journey was not a good one, weight-wise. I have plenty of excuses like a demanding new job and menopause, but the truth is that I burned out and got lazy. In spite of joining several challenges, I found that I was slacking off on the exercise. I stopped tracking my food for a couple of months, and now I am only a few pounds short of the all-time high weight that prompted me to join Sparkpeople three years ago. I'm disappointed in myself, but determined to get back on the horse.

It's my 2-year anniversary with SparkPeople and time to update the SparkPage.

Twice within the last year I got within 1 pound of goal weight, but then life got in the way and I slacked off. I'm in danger of getting all the way back to my starting weight, which is disheartening.

I decided to try a Biggest Loser challenge to shake things up. So far, not much weight loss, but I am definitely improving my daily exercise level. Hopefully the weight will come back off soon.

From March 30, 2014:
Decided to create my Spark Page to celebrate my 1 year anniversary with SparkPeople.

I'm a 50 year old mom, currently living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I've lived here for nearly 18 years and I love it.

I was thin for my entire life until after the birth of my son 16 years ago. I became a stay at home mom and put on one to two pounds per year until I reached 160. That's when I decided that it had to stop.

After one year with SparkPeople, I'm within 4 pounds of my goal weight of 142. It was much harder to keep the pounds off than I ever imagined! I seem to lose three pounds and then plateau for weeks before making a little progress again.

I've started exercising every day for at least 30 minutes, and that seems to be helping break the latest plateau.

    A positive attitude
may not solve all your problems,
but it will annoy enough people
to make it worth the effort.

Welcome to the closing of an old door.
for it is then a new door shall open.
So, as the old door closes on 2019,
I will walk through the open door to 2020,
and walk into a new chapter of my life.
emoticon emoticon ~~In My New Chapter~~ emoticon emoticon
I will LAUGH and I will CRY
    And TREASURE the happiness.
I will GROW from the pain and
FORGIVE ones who will hurt me.
I will do my best to FORGET
For my life is too SHORT
    To live with REGRET.
emoticon emoticon ~~HAPPY NEW YEAR !!~~ emoticon emoticon
""YOU""have made a difference in my life and I will be taking
""YOU"" with me through that open door to 2020

Time to get gifts in the mail.
It's the busiest day of the year.
They need to be packed & stuffed
Full of gifts & goodies you'll send.
Wrap them so pretty, with ribbons & bows
So get them on their way.
But...don't forget to include the tags that say
    ""Don't open till Christmas Day.""

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
    and creates vision for tomorrow.

There will always, always, always be something to be thankful for.
Be thankful for what you have & you will end up having more.
