I am loving every minute I'm here at Spark People. I retired from teaching elementary in 1997. I was a pet sitter for nine years and now I am fully retired. We'll see how long that lasts. I have been struggling with weight since I left teaching. I gained 50 pounds the first year. I sing in two choirs and dabble in crafts. I love musicals and movies, love to swim and walk and I spend a lot of time with family. Like Snoopy I feel that " life is just too short not to live it up a bit."

My Goals:
To enjoy life and be able to continue in the activities I love to do {singing,& travel)

To get back to a healthy size. To avoid getting type 2 diabetes, because it is in my family.

My Program:
I watch my fat and sugar intake. I try to eat a balanced, healthy diet. I swim and walk for exercise.
I do best when exercise is presented as a game.
I love to be helpful and enjoy visiting seniors that live alone.
I play Euchre with a wonderful group of friends every Mon. We take turns hosting. I also play every other Friday at my church. We have lunch together (each one brings their own) and dessert, tea & coffee are provided.
Every Friday I go to "Pizza Club" so called because we meet at a pizza restaurant. There are from 4 to 35 there each week. Love it, love it, love it. This is the group I usually go on my cruises with. We're planning one for the fall to the Mediterranean

Personal Information:
Retired teacher, cum pet sitter who loves to sing and perform in musical theatre,

I am involved in a craft group for seniors and often teach the class myself.

I love movies - especially sentimental sop and children's movies'
I love to tell jokes - and I collect trivia-I'm a spermologist from way back.
I have a wonderful circle of friends. They come from all walks of life. I love to keep informed of what is going on but I hate bad news. I feel we don't have enough "feel good" stuff in our lives.

Other Information:
I used to love being in community theatre and when I ws unable to perform I moved backstage but now that's all over. I do consult from time to time because I'm able to come up with some good ideas for props, sets and costumes but now I am mostly just in the audience

I come from a huge family (13th of 14) of which we are 4 survivors. My siblings are my best friends. I can't afford to lose any more.

Hey Cloey! Got to thinking about you and just wanted to stop by and say hi. Are you still doing okay with WW? What's new? I'm back on the South Beach but not terribly discouraged. Sure hope you're okay and all is well. Wish we could meet at the tea house again. - Dee

Glad to hear you are doing well with the new kitties. One of my cats was a stray and an older kitten when we got him. He too is full of beans - he does the craziest things -it makes us laugh. It is so nice when you can have litter mates - they really enjoy each others company.

Take care and hope all is going well with the team.

Cloey, I was so sorry to hear about Rico. He looked just like a cat we had named Tapis. It is so hard to lose a pet, they are so much a part of our lives. I understand you are thinking of adopting a couple of kitties - that would be so nice for you and them. Take care.

Hi, Cloey! I'm a retired teacher, too, since 1995. My weight gain happened after that, but also after breast cancer and chemo. I know it was easier to keep my weight down, teaching primary grades. On my feet all day and little time to eat. You sound so interesting! I'm a pianist, but I wish I could sing. I love to sing...I just don't sound very good. Blessings, Jenny
