I've come to the point where I MUST do this...for myself.

Since I graduated high school almost 10 years ago (YIKES!) my weight has fluctuated. Not only did I gain my "freshman 15" in college, I gained the sophmore 15...junior 15 AND senior 15! Plus a few extra pounds since it took me a little longer to graduate! Each year I would lose weight, then I would gain it back, plus extra. However, last year was IT! Stress from school & emotional eating had me tipping the scales at 217 lbs, the heaviest I had ever been. Enough was enough...I had to make a change. I joined a program with my family, and it was great to go work out, eat healthy and have that support system all under the same roof, and I did lose about 20 lbs. BUT, I soon slipped away from that program and back into my old eating habits...why? I've JUST realized that each time I tried to lose weight, it was for someone else...a boyfriend, my family, but not for myself.

I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready to do it, FOR MYSELF! I'm away from my family, my core group of friends, & no significant other (yet!)..the ones I would normally depend on to shed the pounds. WELL! Not anymore, not for anyone's time for a change in the way I think and go about losing the weight this time. I'm determined to get it off & keep it off.

    Hey Pretty Girl,

I loved that you said "I must do this for myself". Welcome home, put your things away, figure out what else you might need. I am here as the many thousands. It is a good place to share, to cry and to laugh. We will cheer you on, come back sometimes, and lift your arms up to help you cross the finish line of every goal that you have made.

Doing you is going to be the best reward of your life and it will manifest greatly in all areas of your life. Walk it out girl and we will walk with you. emoticon

Good for've started and that is the hardest part. I've lost 16 lbs and still have another 36.5 lbs to go...I'm on a roll now and not going to give up. If you stick with it, I know you'll get results. One thing that has helped me, is to plan my meals, and setting definite goalposts along the way so that I don't have to wait to lose all the weight before I can savior my successes. ; ) If you need a Spark buddy, I'm here & on the same path as you. I'm doing my weight loss with the Atkins Diet and am just about to start a fresh 2 wk Induction phase to shed the pounds more quickly. I'm also finally starting a designated 25 min aerobic & strength training workout (I don't really like working out, so this will be my very big challenge!). I'm starting Jillian's 30 day Shred Workout video tomorrow. It only takes 25 min and I told myself that no matter how busy I am I can spare the time to do the tape workout. Took my "before" pictures today and will take another set in two weeks and then at the end of the month. I think if I can see results it might make me more willing to keep on with the exercise. Congratulations on committing to a new & healthy day at a time.
