Where the road has led….
I began this journey Jan 5, 2008 at 158 pounds...
In the past year since finding Spark People, I got pretty close to my goal weight.... I am 5'9" and today weigh 144 pounds.... I am happy with my weight loss, and hope to maintain at 140-145 pounds.
I also gained muscle and lost fat…. I went from BF% of 21.7 in May of 2008 to a BF% of 16.1 March 2009.

Through my “friends” on Sparks I am now a runner.
I learned to run using the Couch to 5K programs on CoolRunning.com. ---I was bored with just walking on the treadmill, needed something different, so I learned to run and finished the program 05/02/08.
At home I do DVD’s, the elliptical and some ST besides running or walking..
On occasion I go to the gym, hope to make this more of a routine…
I have never stuck with working out for this length of time-SP really keeps me motivated and accountable.
In 2008 I completed 6-5K’s.
In 2009 I have just done 1 race so far-an 8K that was awful--it was cold and it poured for the whole thing.
I have my first 5K of 2009 on June 7th, which is the very first race I ever did last year.
My goal and what I am training for now is a 1/2 marathon in New Orleans Feb 27, 2010---a bunch of fellow Sparkers are doing this race also, it will be a blast....
Love the journey that I have been on this past year, value all the "friends" I have made and love all the advice....
Love my new way of life….
