Seeing as I just turned 78, and have been more or less idle with Dr.s etc. for the past 6 weeks, I decided it was time to update this and get a fresh start. I have to really buckle down and get back on track with every thing. I joined here in 2006 and guess I have just been playing at losing as I haven't really lost all that much. My goals are going to be---track both nutrition and fitness each and every day even though I do not feel like it sometimes.---Stay with in the boundaries of my calorie range---Do some sort of exercise at least 30 minutes a day--- and TRY to stay away from sweets-being pastries, candy, home baked sweets unless they are home made low cal , not only are they not god for weight loss they make me feel very lousy. So there you have it my declaration of intentions.

Fitness Minutes: 101,949

My Goals:
Is to stay in calorie range, track nutrition every day.

Do some sort of exercise each day to keep myself flexable and to track that exercise.

Stay away from sweets ( pastries) both boughten and homemade .

My Program:
I am counting calories trying to stay in a1200-1640 cal. range.

Do my Wii tennis each and every day, plus add in some upper and lower body exercises that I am able to do.

Personal Information:
I am from rural Maine. I was born and brought up here, and finally settled where I am today about 1/4 mile from the farm I was brought up on. Give me country living any day, as to living in the city. Love with woods and wildlife all around me, where you can look out and watch and feed the birds. Have wild turkeys come and eat off the feeder platform in the back yard, also sometime deer also come in the winter to eat from the feeder platform. See the little chipmunks and the squirrels running around chasing each other. Just having nature and all it's beings around you instead of cars coming and going all day and night. Peace and quiet.

Other Information:
I was a quilter--but now mostly do knitting. I donate hand knit mittens and hats to be given out to kids who need them in the winter, Also knit for my family.

Hi Gini, Glad to hear you are doing well right now and that you were able to up your meds. so you can move easier. It makes it so difficult to want to move and it hurts too much to. I am with you on the wasteful excuses and procrastinations (I am a very good procrastinator I am sorry to have to say). As for me, am I losing weight? I wish I could say yes but alas I cannot. Maintaining? That seems to be what I am doing most of the time. I don't like to maintain where I am at but if I can't lose I guess it is better than gaining.I am soooo tired all the time that most times I can't seem to get out of my own way. Yes I have told the Dr. about that but so far that is as far as it has gone. I keep trying though. I get a burst of energy and I do exercise when that happens, but those time are so far and few between. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and a wonderful week. emoticon emoticon and never give up. emoticon my friend. Till next time. Jan

Thank you for checking in on me. I am doing well right now and have been able to up my pain medication to 4 a day. This is allowing me to move more and easier. I still have to really fight with myself to make me walk for my 10 minutes, minimum a day. I find so many little wasteful excuses and procrastinate so often. I just have to persevere and I will get better I know I will.
How are you doing? Are you losing weight or are you on maintenance? I am never sure when I meet people what their direction is at that time. Me, I am trying so hard to be healthier. I need so much overhaul work done. But little by little, I can whittle my middle, as the poem goes. LOL Have a great weekend and hope to both have a great week next week with lots of success.

    Your friend,

Hi Crafty. What do you like to be called? It is Gini here. I like your sparkpage. I actually joined Spark in 2008 but just a week or so ago, closed my old account, Formydarlings, and returned as Healthy4gini. I did this to give myself a boost and a fresh start from square 1. I had to give up thousands of sparkpoints, awards etc, but am so glad I did. I am slow getting my new page together and hope to get it better this weekend. We shall see. Let me tell you about me. I live in Ontario, Canada and am 63 years old. I say old because with a host of health issues, I FEEL old most days. LOL I live in the very heart of the city and love it here. I am married for 43 years this November and our 36 yr old now single son lives with us. It is a blessing to me to have him here as he is so very helpful, especially for me. Let me know about you and I hope we can become better friends.
