Welcome to my page. I committed to a new me this year and then fell off the planet. I've gained back 10 lbs so my journey is a bit longer than when I started. I am such an emotional eater. I just hope with some support and inner motivation, I can make the changes I need to make.

I've lost weight, gained weight, lost weight... many of you know how it is. At one point I weighed 250 lbs. I'm trying to never get back to that point again. That's my defensive stance. But I'm also on an offensive stance (can you tell that I like football?). I need to take on the rest of these pounds and get this body healthy.

Things in my way besides me... Seriously though, my heads in the way... I was really close to my goal in 2001 and then I had a stroke. How can that be? I am almost healthy and then I have a stroke?!!@$$#% So each time I get close to my goal, I sabotage myself and I know it. This time, I pledge not too. Because in my brain I know my losing weight isn't what caused my stroke (I'm fine now really just a little leftover stuff that in the realm of life is minor)

I have fibromyalgia, which is also not a deadly disease, but does cause pain, pain and more pain if you're not careful. So I have to be careful when I exercise to take breaks (time off). Then I feel guilty and try to sneak exercise in, which flares up the fibro, then you can't exercise for a few days... I think you can see the cycle that can happen...

So here's the plan... I'm just going to do it by doing it! i'm not going to beat myself up when I need to take a break (yes I need to not even walk on these days). I'll still eat well on these off days.

Oh and here's the last part... I LOVE TO EAT! Food is yummy to me and I love to cook too. So I've learned to cook healthier fare (Weight Watchers has great cookbooks). Now I just have to eat well portion wise. And FOOD IS FUEL, NOT FUN is my new mantra!

    Rachel - WooHoo on your loss this week! You and I are going to do this together. I lost 0.6 lbs to your 0.5 lbs this week. Slow and steady and it will come off. Let's both aim for a high loss next week and try for over 1 lb. We can do this. Amy

    Rachel, thanks for the welcome. We have pretty similar goals so maybe we can encourage one another. I'm sorry to hear about the Fibromyalgia. One of my dearest friends has it too so I understand a little of what you must go through. You are doing great in spite of your obstacles so give yourself a pat on the back for that! Looking forward to more successes this fall. Together I know we can do it. Beth
