Introduction Text Hi I'm Dave and I am looking for some inspiration to lose my excess weight. I have slipped into a junk food habit, resulting in a large weight gain. I am looking to turn this around with the help of SparkPeople.

I would like to lose about 50-60Lb initially and would hope to do this within the next twelve months.

Number one, I have ditched the biscuit (cookie) barrel. I am starting to eat more fruit and veg and no longer visit the take away. I am also walking short journeys now instead of using the car.

I am 65 years old, recently retired and live in Kingston upon Hull in the UK. I have two Children, Michael and Nicola, and three grandchildren Katie (11), Lucy (8}, and Rhys (5)

I am a keen photographer and like photographing shipping. As I live in one of the major UK ports this is very rewarding. I like Country Music and Sci-Fi films and books. My favorite book of all time is J R R Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. My favorite Country Artists are "Steve Earle", "Willie Nelson", "Nanci Griffith", "Iris Dement" and although she is not strictly country I Love "Lucy Kaplansky" and have seen her live a couple of times in Sheffield UK. I am a supporter of Hull City AFC (The Tigers) who currently play in the English Premier League.
