Here I am again a year later. Starting out about the same weight as last time but everything else is different. For one, I got married to a wonderful man who loves me for who I am no matter what I weigh. We are very active together on the weekends and on our vacations, not so much after work most likely because I just turned 60 and I seem to get a little more tired than before.
Second, I had breast cancer this year and ended up 3 surgeries later, without one breast. I was one of the blessed ones though and did not have to have radiation or chemo. The next few months I will be going through reconstructive surgery; and so it is critical that I loose the weight so I have the best outcome.
So here I am, motivated to loose as much as I can and to be as healthy as I can do finish this thing off and come out of it better than when I went in.
Would love to hear from other breast cancer survivors and cheer you on.

Just dropped by to say Hello! I too am a survivor of Breast cancer, also had a mastectomy but did not have reconstruction, that was 10 years ago. I married my high school Senior Prom date 43 years after the Prom at the age of 60. Like you I was lucky that he accepted me as I was........a great feeling. Making the decision to take off the weight I put on over the years and eat healthy was the second best decision I made in my life.......after 7 weeks I have found a resurgence of energy, I sleep better and feel a whole lot better about myself. Good luck on your journey and with your upcoming surgery and remember--you have a whole team pulling for you!
