    Thanks for all the well wishes. I started on SP the first day of 2010, so it's been a 2 year journey. I lost most of my weight the first 13 months, and I've basically just been maintaining the past year. I might lose a pound here or there, but not much. I think the big change this time that made it successful was the my mindset changed. It's not a diet (4-letter word!), it's not short term or temporary, it's not restrictive or punishing. This is something I believe I have to do every day for the rest of my life to stay healthy. I'm not a crazy person who only eats 1200 calories per day or who exercises for hours at a time. I eat healthy, whole foods that I cook at home. I don't eat out at fast food places, I only eat at a restaurant every couple of months if it's a really special event. I quit soda several years back. I still have a big sugar addiction, but I mostly keep that stuff out of the house and just allow myself a little bit once in awhile. I usually exercise 2-3 hours per week total,trying to hit 30-45 minutes 3-5 days per week. This is something I can fit into my busy life with hubby and kids and not get burnt out on. This is something I can maintain forever. I think you have to accept that your old lifestyle made you fat once, and if you ever go back, it's going to make you fat again.

The world we currently live in is so very toxic, this happens to way too many people. I am so thankful to God that I found SP and was able to get healthy & give my friend Kelly the gift of life.

    Way to go on the progress you made with cutting back and finding a way to still get some exercise even when "handicapped". So sorry about your ankle. I don't know if you have time to go to the gym, or if the gym in Deming has this piece of equipment, but last year when I had sciatica so bad I could hardly walk my gym had a machine that I can't remember the name of. But it has pedals like a bicycle but you pedal it with your arms instead of your feet while sitting down. I was amazed at the cardio workout it was! Hope your ankle heels soon. In the meantime you're doing your taking wonderful steps. I like your friends idea.

    Glad you have your passion now! It was a long meeting yesterday with no lunch break but they brought in pizza and a lot of other goodies to eat while working. I didn't do too bad but I could have done better. My downfall was the meatloaf my daughter had made when I got home about 8 pm. I love meatloaf and don't make it myself but one daughter is staying here temporarily with her family and it was so good. But today back on track. I was proud of myself though because when the meeting finally got out before I came home I stopped at the park on Picacho that has the trail by the Rio Grande and got an hour of walking in. It was not hot and there is a paved path that runs a long way. I think I've heard it may run all the way down to the El Paso-Mexico border. Seems I read that somewhere but it said the area near the border is not safe. Have no intention of walking THAT far anyway LOL!
