Need to get back to a healthy me before retirement. I figure once I'm 're-tired" I'll be good for another 50,000 miles, right?
1/22/17 - same goal and this is my last year of work.
10/27/17 - well - I got part way there before retirement. I have enjoyed almost two full weeks of retirement and am just getting back to the healthy life. The work-stress is gone so that should help a lot. Got in over 10,000 steps yesterday. More than halfway there after a great morning walk and workout.
July 12, 2018 - starting from scratch with Jenny Craig again.

Fitness Minutes: 2,187

My Goals:
I want to get into a healthier happier place to prepare for a long, healthy retirement. I'm looking for improvement, not perfection. At the moment I don't have a "goal number". But the closer I get to the mid-100's, the happier I'll be.


My Program:
Walking every chance I get - outdoors if possible, on the treadmill if not. More careful choices of foods. Nothing forbidden, but maybe just chosen a lot less.
1/22/17 - been using a combo of Jenny Craig lunch/dinners (I signed up over a decade ago and got the platinum plan so I don't have to pay any extras forever), Weight watchers meetings - have a wonderful Saturday morning group who I learn so much from and of course SparkPeople where I get my continuing inspiration.
7/12/18 - Restarting Jenny Craig - I really don't like coming up with my own meal plans. This is a good way to get back in the zone without a lot of stress.



Personal Information:
Married - lot of kids and grandkids. Just 3 of us left at home now - me, hubby extraordinaire and our youngest who is already turning 25.
1/22/17 - Youngest daughter and her kids are also in our house now while she goes through a divorce. Hopefully they will be on their own by summer and our youngest son should be moved out by the end of the year.

7/12/18 - Just the two of us left in the house - plus our pup, Susie Q.
10/27/17 - house is still not just the two of us. Youngest son should be out by the end of the year. Oldest daughter has been here for a few months - she's been given a deadline of the first of the year, too.


Other Information:
Interests - writing, reading, playing drums, playing the blues, having a lot of musician friends. Just enjoying everything God has provided for us.
1/22/17 - new addiction - have been learning to play cello since last March and hope to improve with that, too. I like a challenge
7/12/18 - drums sold - done with that phase. Still working on the cello and recently started twice a month piano lessons which I really love. Still keeping up with musician friends from our blues band days. Now that I'm retired, even more reading for me to do - always been a library and bookstore junkie. Wanting to get back into walking more.

    Thanks for popping by the blog. I've actually discovered something called Biocoffee, which is a non-acidic coffee. It's downside is that it already has a non-dairy creamer added, but my occupational therapist approves it, so I have the one mug of "real" coffee in the morning, and my Biocoffee as a late afternoon or early evening treat!
