I had my 4th child on Jan. 19th! I am the mother of 4 children...3 boys and 1 girl. I am loving my new baby boy, but need to begin shedding MANY unwanted pounds while breastfeeding. I have done this before and I CAN do this again...but some days are way more difficult than others. I will try to focus on making healthy choices and to recognize all that my body has done for me & continues to do!

OLD POST.... (keeping this in order to motivate me now with 4 children)
I had my third child in November 2007. I now have 2 boys (ages 11 & 5) and a girl (now 8 months old). I put on 40 lbs during my pregnancy. Though I have lost some weight, I am looking to lose 20 more pounds. I'm trying to be realistic about this whole thing. I'm still breastfeeding my baby who isn't a big fan of sleep, pacifiers, or bottles. I'm enjoying every minute of her (even the bad ones) while trying to shed some of this unwanted weight. My goal is to be strong and fit. To help me accomplish this huge task.. I am running 3 miles 3x a week. I'm also cross training on the days that I am not running by either walking or using the elliptical. I am using free weights 3x a week and squeezing in push ups, squats, lunges, and bench presses. I really need to watch my food intake and make healthier choices on a daily basis. It's my biggest challenge. I would rather eat brownies and ice-cream in place of balanced meals...NOT good. I am absolutely addicted to chocolate...but I AM going to kick it!

... Still kicking the chocolate addiction. Some days & weeks are better than others but now I'm conscious of it. I plan around it. I count the calories & I'm holding myself accountable for my eating habits. I'm also beginning to run. My goal is to complete my first 5K ever! It's a slow process, but I'm determined to live a healthier stronger life.

....Ran my first 5K!!! 34 min. 30 sec. I am proud that I reached this goal & am continuing to run 3x/week.

March Goals:

~alternate running & walking on the track w/stroller for 45 min.
~stretch before & after working out
~strength train 3x/week
~ab work 5x/week

April Goals:
I am running! I'm working on the C25K program 3x a week. I'm hoping to complete my first 5K ever at the end of May. My goals are simple: register for the race, run the whole race, & not be the last person to cross the finish line! I know I can do this!

May Goals!
Continue working through the c25k program. On May 31st I will run my first ever 5K! I've always wanted to run them before but never had the courage to do it. This time I'm doing it. I'm also working on strength training. I need to use heavier weights & challenge myself more 3x a week. Also, I need to stay focused on making healthy eating choices. Only eat when I am hungry! I tend to eat when I am lacking sleep...which is ALL the time these days.

I did it! I ran my first official 5K on

My Program:
I am going to the Y Monday - Thursday w/the baby. Tues., Thurs., & Sat are my running days. Mon., Wed., & Sun., are the days are when I'm walking, using the elliptical, or doing pilates. I'm also using weights for my arms 3x/week & doing squats & lunges w/ my growing baby (now at 13 lbs)
