I joined SparkPeople in April 2007. I met that goal in August 2007, then gained and lost it again, like, twice.

About me: I'm 29, work as a web developer at a small ad agencey, and live with my fiance, who I've been with for 10 years, and our two cats.

My favorite sport is martial arts; I used to do Choy Li Fut kung fu, but currently do mixed martial arts (tae kwon do, muay thai, Gracie jiu jitsu and boxing). I also have a love-hate relationship with running. I used to have knee problems, but after practicing Chi Running for about nine months, my knees have never been better.

January 2012: After flirting with the Primal Blueprint diet last fall, I'm back on board, and this time the fiance is doing it with me! This is definitely a way of eating that makes me feel better, and it's supporting my active lifestyle, plus helping me lose a little bit of weight and build muscle. It's worth it despite all the cooking that goes into it -- but, it is nice to finally know how to manage my own kitchen, haha. More info at www.marksdailyapple.com and www.westonaprice.org

My Goals:
Eat good, feel good, have fun, ride bikes, get a black belt, write a book.

My Program:
Fitness: Mixed martial arts, like, ALL the freaking time. Plus cardio kickboxing and resistance classes in the morning, and a couple 5Ks a year.

Nutrition: Mashup of the recommendations from the Primal Blueprint and the Weston A. Price Foundation.

    Hey there!! Glad you're feeling better and back at it! I just noticed your 1/20 blog with progress picture...WOW! Is this just a clean diet (no refined sugar, white flour, or processed foods) or is it something different? I saw you mentioned not eating sugar.

    I'm doing alright! Trying to get my butt back in gear to be more active on the weekends and in the evenings (think I've been hibernating this winter!). The 30-class pass I got via Groupon will help that I'm hoping! :) We're staying busy around the house and things are picking up at work a bit.

    BTW, I followed you on Twitter today - so if you see @twig_and_leaf, that's me (twig&leaf is the name of the duet Brian and I play under). Hope you have a great day! Good to hear from you! :)

    Lol I know, cleaning the tank sucks. I usually bribe my dad with beer money or my brothers with sodas to do it for me. Im the epitome of lazy :p

    Hi Elaine! I'm on day 25 of Primal and am loving it! Last week was kind of 'off' feeling for me-I was veerry moody. Any little thing my poor hubs said or did just set me off and I bit his head off! Then starting Tuesday, I feel great! Not moody, lots of energy. I never had the carb cravings tho, thank goodness :) Love the fact I am not hungry 2 hrs after I eat and I can IF daily for at least 14 hrs before eating and I'm not famished! Are you fasting at all? I don't mean to necessarily, it just happens that way..Good luck to you :)
