1/7/2008 - I am trying to get back into shape. Growing up I swam every summer on the County's competition swim team, played recreational basketball until i was to old, played basket ball 8th, 9th grades then our high school started a swim team so i swam my 10th, 11th, and 12th years. I played tennis my whole HS career. So I was always active until college. Since high school i haven't been playing sports and as adulthood continues metabolism slows with less activity... So... with the job I have I need to be in the best shape I can be and be on my game 24/7/365.

So here I am.

Oh, my job... full-time firefighter in a two station city fire department. I also volunteer (no pay) on the County High Angle Rescue Team and Search and Rescue Team. So...I should (should) be in shape!

I got my first Siberian Husky May 9th, 2008!!! Hoping to exercise with her and train her to be a Therapy dog for hospitals I hope.
August 2009 rescued a black lab/german shepard pup that I took to trainings, hoping to eventually have two therapy dogs. Xena (black lab mix) is too shy for therapy dog test and SAR but SUPER smart it's so aggravating.
I rescued a Golden Retriever named Sonny who had parvo (didn't know this when he was picked up) and lived through it and has now been through 2 dog training classes and on his way to SAR training.

Wow! I lost about 20 lbs before summer... floated there till about August and lost about 10 more until about December 2008. In December 8th I lost my Great Aunt exactly 1 month before her birthday; January 15th I lost my grandmother "Memaw" that practically raised me. Beginning of February I had my first experience of a Trauma call with a Spanish speaking family... it was also my first pediatric fatality (15 months old). This all probably explains why the scales keep going up and down. The good news is the Jillian Michaels Circuit Training is working because I can tell it in my clothes. So I must be losing inches!

July 2009 - Tried P90x and stopped after about 3 weeks just due to my back/hip issues. I need to build more on my core before I go back to that.

August 2009 - Started school for Personal Training Certificate.

August 2010 - Stating on the other half of the personal Training Certificate.

May 2011- I have my Personal Training Certificate! Now I have to LOOK like one!!! In the past month I have changed and understood that I can not keep this cycle going. I want to become a successful Trainer and help others!

May 2012 Associates Degree in Exercise Science

December 2012 - First Child (Son) Desmond was born!!!

Sept15, 2008 joined Jillian Michael's online program... supplementing Sparkpeople.

Personal Information:
I'm in my mid 20's. I love the outdoors. I love the outdoors. I am a Christian. I also enjoy photography and going on mission trips to Central America.
Of course a couple days after i started investigating Sparkpeople I got hurt on the job and ended up in Physical Therapy. There is plus...i got 30 days free membership to a really nice gym. I went for my 30 days. then started back at the City gym. Now I have joined Anytime Fitness on Nov 2008. I love this gym! Now I'm loving P90x!

I am loving the changes so far!!!

Plateaus stink but are expected!!! Another bump in life.
