I just read your info about your self here on your Spark Page. As I said about your blog, I could have written that as well.
I am so very happy to see you dealing with these issues at a young age.
I am 64 years old, and I began dealing with them over 6 years ago. The longer you have the bad habit, the easier it is to fall back into it.
I am glad that you see that your self esteem is all important. Treat yourself well, when you listen for, and hear those negative thoughts you have carried around with you, take them out, examine them, and realize that they are really lies, untruths.
You deserve to be happy and healthy. I began this journey at 333 pounds. I have suffered with a terrible back and bad knees for many years. In Oct of 2011, I had a 6 hour back surgery, and my back is very much better. In Aug last year, I had a total knee replacement of my left knee, and in Oct a total knee on my right knee. I am getting better, and am going to be able to do so much more now that I have had the bad part fixed!
With all of these physical issues, my weight has fluctuated up and down. Right now I am having some trouble, but am getting myself back in the game.
This is one of the reasons I am glad to see you doing this as a younger person. Your thoughts are in a good place. Just remember that you do not have to be perfect, and that you only have to do this, one day at a time. I also say, one small change at a time, sometimes, even one minute at a time.

Buffy, your words spoke to me as I share very similar feelings. Different circumstances yet the sentiments are the same. God grant me the courage to change what I can, accept what I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference. We may have cards stacked against us, but we have the power and the control in what passes our lips. We have the choice to move it or lose it. We can wallow in self pity or we can take a stand and take control over our actions. Changing our mindset from "I can't" to "I don't" puts the control back in our court. God may have designed us to be a size 12 instead of a size 6 like we may have in mind, but we can be the healthiest and fittest size 12 we can be. It sounds like you're making the connection. You may not be where you want to be but thank God you're not where you used to be. Keep your chin up, face forward and don't look back. Your on the road to goal. I'm rooting for you girl! 2509 days ago
