My name is Buffy, and I joined spark to get assistance in developing healthy eating and living habits that will potentially lead to weight loss and a more healthier, confident me.
All my life I've struggled with obesity. Since I was a small child I've gone through ridicule from family and peers about my weight. This eventually led into poor self image, low confidence, and whatever else follows a young girl who doesn't know or love herself for who she is instead of what the world demands her to be. This I've sunk deep in for years occasionally reaching the surface for a breath of air before receding back to the depths. And don't get the idea I'm some "sad fat girl," this was more of an internal struggle.
Time to overcome...admit my flaws, accept the past and what I cannot change....everything said and done in response...grasp what I can change (through God's power and love), and not let the way I look determine my feelings and image of myself. No more excuses, moaning, groaning, blaming, or feeling sorry for myself....taking responsibilty, believing in myself that I CAN DO THIS.
Now, a college grad, newlywed, loving my job, and preparing for gradschool, I know God has a purpose for my life...and drives me even more to want to make wise choices about my health so I may please him and be there longer for my family.

I'm doing this for me, my God, my family, my friends, and for everyone who's ever said over and over..."i just can't do it."

So that's me in a longer than brief intro...feel free to add me as a friend...I'm looking give and receive encouragement, motivation, or just a bit o' love in a life today.

I read your recent blog and really appreciate your insight. Yes and no. Two little words with so much power. Thanks for reminding me of what is important. I am adding you as a friend and I hope that is OK.

I really loved what you had to say about "Yes" and "No". I had never thought of my struggle in that way, and your insight has given me a major boost to carry on with my "millionth" attempt at getting back on the wagon.
    Thank you so much!
