KDYLOSE
Just this morning I was commenting on a friend's blog where we were looking back on our youth, two ladies in our 60's, and seeing things we couldn't see about ourselves then. And what I was seeing is how hard I was on myself. Anything that I did that was less than perfect, in my mind I had failed. Then when I came across your page I could so relate. So if you don't mind, let me give you this advice from an old lady: it's going to get better and clearer as you get older. All you have to do is hang in there and keep trying. And when you're playing negative tapes in your head, try to tell yourself what you'd tell a good friend who was saying those things about herself: "You're doing great! You're only human!"
I never did find that missing piece, that love I was yearning for, though I had boyfriends and husbands. For me, the thing that filled my heart the most was having a child. (But I didn't do that till I was 38, not suggesting you rush into anything!) 1874 days ago
