2014 will be my year!

Long story short:

I had a typical unhealthy American upbringing, my parents knew NOTHING about nutrition and we lived a very sedentary lifestyle. At 18 years old I weighed 190 pounds and the number on the scale just continued to climb from there. When I was married in 12/2007 I was at my highest weight ever around 275 pounds. Through weight watchers and cardio I got myself down to 215 in 08/2011. My weight crept back up to almost 260 in July of 2013 (probably because no one can maintain eating only 1,400 calories a day and hours of cardio for long). I'm currently busting my butt and arming myself with knowledge to take control of my life, once and for all!

My Goals:
Today (12/30/13) I'm weighing in at 237.8 lbs.

My goal is to find a healthy balance this year. I want to enjoy myself and find a "normal weight" for me that I can easily maintain.

Ideally I want to weigh in around 180 by June or July of 2014.

Goal 1 - 230: MET 1/3/14
Goal 2 - 220:
Goal 3 - 210:
Goal 4 - 200:
Goal 5 - 190:
Goal 6 - 180:

Non-weight goals (just as important as a number on the scale that does not take muscle mass, water retention, etc. into account):

Row 850m in 3:00:
Bodyweight deadlift:
4 minutes of continuous jump rope in Muay Thai class:
No shorts on the beach:

My Program:
I am already a member of a kick ass gym. I do a combination of cross-training/cross fit type workouts. I try to train at least 3 times a week. My gym also has abs/core class that I try to make at least once a week. Lastly, I just joined the muay thai team, so I try to make as many kickboxing classes as possible, class meets four times a week.

I also try to follow a higher protein, moderate fat and lower carb diet. I HATE counting calories. Ideally I'd like to be able to lose weight by making good choices and not tracking macronutrients (this may be a pipedream).

I recently purchased a Nutribullet and am adding smoothies to my routine.

Personal Information:
I have already lost 30 pounds following my program pre-sparkpeople. The holidays did pack 11 pounds back on me (boo-hiss), I need to get back on track and get more support.

I work out HARD at my gym. I am into lifting heavy, completing the different challenges my trainer creates (sometimes I even have the best time for all women in the gym or am the only woman able to complete the challenge). I am not afraid to push my body....I screw up with the eating part of this lifestyle I am trying to cultivate.

Other Information:
I work as a registered nurse, I am also starting school in the new year to work on my BSN.

My schedule (I work overnights) is really taking a toll on my routine and I need to figure this out ASAP to get back on track!

A big reason I want to get healthy is that my husband and I are looking to start a family in 2014 and I want to have a healthy baby and be a good role model!

Hi there! :D Sorry it's taken me this long to get around to saying hi, admittedly I haven't been all that active in sparking most of this year. Still, dropped by, and thought I would see how it's going! :) Hope you're doing well!
