Hello, I'm Peggy. I am just shy of 66 yrs old and had been steadily gaining weight since having my fifth child in 1983. I tried many times to just diet, but was not able to control my appetite (and my love of sweets!) so when my diabetes had gotten so out of control that my fasting sugars were in the 180-250 range steadily, I signed up for RNY gastric bypass. I have not had any regrets, and have so far lost 60+ lbs. It is not easy, and I still battle with my desire to eat more than I should at times.

My Goals:
First and foremost, I want to live long enough to see whatever grandchildren God decides to give us, and then I want to be healthy enough to enjoy them and play with them!

My Program:
I am committing to a diet based on what I've found here today. I want to eat: low fat, emphasis on "good carbs" and high fiber, lots of water, and exercise to chase the weight loss into high(er) gear :-)

Personal Information:
My name is Peggy, and I have five great sons, and three incredible granddaughters, a grandson and a "grandson. of the heart" I grew up in the far outskirts of the Cleveland Ohio area (Chesterland-- in Geauga county). I have lived in 7 different states since then, and now reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Other Information:
I love being a professional artist, (painting acrylics and watercolors) which for many years was just a wish, but I'm not getting any younger, and with the help\ of some wonderful artists I met, I have achieved that goal. I also love gardening, cuddling grandchildren and volunteering in many capacities, mostly through my church.
