Introduction Text In March 2009 I had a wake-up call...chest pain. It turned out not to be my heart, but I was forced to come to grips with the way I was living would lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. I believe that my body is the temple of God, and now I'm starting to treat it that way. I want to lose weight so that I have a better chance of living a long, happy, fulfilling life and being here for my wife and (some day) kids. I thank God for a wife who is wiling to be my wellness partner and make changes with me. As of January 2010, I've lost about 70 pounds (60 of them since I joined SparkPeople), and I feel much better physically. I also feel much more confident about my appearance, though I still have a long ways to go.

Return to a normal BMI weight. Feel healthy and regain the ability to participate in my favorite activities. Be there for my wife and (someday) kids.

*Exercise (cardio) at least 5 times a week for 60 minutes. *Eat sensibly--lots of fruits & veggies, whole grains, protein, complex carbs, sensible amount of healthy fats, low saturated fat.

Married to a lovely and supportive woman; thankful to still have my job considering the tough times our country has been experiencing.

I am balancing my love of going to the movies with a new love of going to the YMCA.
